Description of Works Unit Total Qty Supply Rate Installation Rate Total Supply Total Installation

1 Power Supply System

1.1 Transformer (750 KVA) set 2
Individual transformer shall be installed for distribution of three phase AC Supply at DC-1 and
DC-2. The transformer shall be suitable for outdoor floor mounting and shall be designed to
facilitate easy operation, inspection, maintenance and repair.
Service Condition
The transformer shall be capable of operating continuously at its normal rating without
exceeding the temperature rise limit. The transformer shall be designed for continuous duty
under the following conditions.
Ambient air temperature : -5oC to +45oC Relative Humidity : Up to 98%
Altitude : up to 2000 m above the mean sea level

Transformer Core
The core shall be constructed of high quality, low loss, high permeability, cold rolled grain
oriented (CRGO), non-ageing magnetic silicon steel sheets and design to accessible loading
110% rated voltage without making injury to the transformer core. The steel shall be in thin
lamination, annealed after cutting and rolled to insure smooth surface at the edges. Both side
of each sheet shall be insulated with a durable, heat-resistance backed enamel or varnish. The
core shall be rigidly clamped with positive locking devices to insure adequate mechanical
strength to support the winding, prevent shifting of laminations during transport, and to
reduce vibration to a minimum, during operation.

Transformer Windings
The winding shall be made of high conducting electrolytic copper. The design,
construction and treatment of windings shall give proper consideration to all service
factors, such as high dielectric and mechanical strength of insulation, coil characteristics,
uniform electrostatic flux distribution, minimum restriction to free oil circulation and
shall be uniformly insulated. Permanent current-carrying joints for splices shall be welded or
brazed, properly formed and finished and insulated to conform to the basic insulation. The
completed assembly of core and coils shall be dried in a vacuum sufficient to insure
elimination of air and moisture within the insulating structure after the drying process, the
assembly shall be
immediately impregnated with dry oil insulation..

Tapping
The primary voltage windings of transformers shall be provided with full capacity externally
operated off-circuit tap changers. The tap changer shall be designed for de-energized operation
with the operating handle brought out through the cover of the tank. The tapping shall be
provided on HV side to give +5%, & +2.5% by means of manually operated off circuit
Tapping switch with a position indicator and a locking device.

Transformer Oil
The transformer tank and all associated oil-filled equipment shall normally be supplied along
with the first filling of oil. The transformer oil shall be well filtered, of high dielectric strength,
free from moisture and acidity and have uniform quality and shall comply to the BS 148/84
and IEC 60296 standards.

Transformer Tank
The tank of transformer shall be of robust construction in accordance with the best engineering
practice. The tank of transformer shall be fabricated from tested quality of mild steel of
adequate thickness. The tank shall be suitably stiffened to provide rigidity and to meet the
pressure inside the tank due to short circuit current and it shall be oil tight and gas tight. The
tank
shall be capable of withstanding leakage or permanent deformation, resulting from the
system of oil preservation.
Painting
The interior surface of the tank shall be finished with oil resistant paint. The paint used for
tank shall have special heat, oil and weather-resisting properties.

Accessories
Each transformer shall be equipped with the following accessories:
1. H.T. and L.T. bushing, with terminal connections.
2. Two earthing terminals for tank.
3. Oil level gauge with minimum and maximum level.
4. Lifting lugs.
5. Rating and terminal marking plate.
6. Caution notice plate.
7. Skid under base.
8. Oil filling hole and plug.
9. Tap changer.
10. Sludge drain valve and plug.

Rating Plate
The rating plate shall give the following information:
1. KVA rating
2. Voltage on no load on HV and LV sides
3. Current in HV and LV sides
4. Phases on HV and LV sides
5. Type of cooling
6. Frequency
7. Impedance voltage
8. Vector group
9. Weight of core and winding in kg.
10. Weight of oil in kg.
11. Volume of oil in litres
12. Total weight of the transformer
13. Name of manufacturer and year of manufacture
14. Serial number of transformer
15. No load loss and full load loss

Maximum guaranteed temperature of oil in centigrade.

Minimum electrical clearance (external) between Phase to Phase shall not be less than 255mm
and phase to earth shall not be less than 205mm on 11kV side. Minimum electrical
clearance (external) between Phase to Phase shall not be less than 75mm and phase to earth
shall not be less than 55mm on 400V side.

No. of coils HV/Phase : Single Coil

The supplier shall submit the catalogue/documents and detail drawings which shall
clearly mention no load loss and full load loss in watts.
The transformers shall confirm to National Standard and/or IEC Standard. The National
standard certificate shall be from the bidder's country of manufacturer. The certification shall
be for capacity of at least offered capacity or higher.

Self declaration letter from the manufacturer regarding the capacity of transformer, winding
material, no load loss, full load loss used in the offered transformers.

The type test certificate shall have been issued by a reputed independent laboratory
accredited by International Laboratory Accreditation Corporation (ILAC) or
International Accreditation Forum (IAF) or other reputed accreditation agencies on the
