First, set up the paper, printer, etc. using the menu File→Page and print setup…
You can also select templates using the template icon on the Layouts toolbar, a template file
(.MXT) on the hard disc or templates installed in the software (various window tabs: My
templates, General and World).
If you want to insert certain elements into the presentation, such as a linear scale, a title, a
legend, the direction north, etc., do so using the menu Insert→… and select the required

In the layout, you will only see the layers that are visible in the Data Frame. To change the name
or the symbology with which the legend is displayed, you will have to change it in the TOC.
To insert a grid with coordinates on a Data Frame of the Layout, right click on data
frame→Properties, Grid tab. In the window that appears, click on the New Grid button and
then select the Measured Grid option. Define the grid step by step and apply it.
