the store regarding the products purchased, order quantity, colour, size, value and so on. Tabulate
the data collected to include the number of customers, their demographics, purchase value, quantity
and so on. Present the data visually as a dashboard. Include the answers to the following in the
assignment:
● What would be the KPIs that the product manager would be interested in?
● What insights can he derive from this dashboard?
Assumptions: Collected dataset of an online cloth store which has presence in four zones - EAST,
WEST, NORTH, SOUTH. The store deals in Mens and Boys clothing and accessories.
Data Processing:
Performed data cleaning and data analysis to identify
a) What are the products with highest sales
b) Which zone(s) has highest sales
c) How sales changed with time, etc.
d) Perform clustering
From the dataset, a product manager would be interested in the below KPIs
1. Zone wise sales volume
2. Champion and fast-moving products across each zone
3. Establish need for Premium clothing stores
4. Monthly demands for products across zone
Data Analysis: The data set includes approx 2000 records with contains the demographics data of
purchaser in each zone and respective store in each zone along with the details on category
purchasing and sales volume.
1. From the data set we can see that the maximum revenue is coming from the South Zone while the
minimum revenue is coming from the West.
2. The presence of the number of stores is more in the South followed by North, East and West.
3. But when we observe the revenue per store across all zones, we find that it is highest in the East
than in the North, West and South. This means that average bill order sales are more in the East
despite having a smaller number of stores.
4. If we observe the product wise sales, we find the champion product is MENS TROUSERS with the
highest selling in South than in North, East and West.
5. From the monthly sales, we can see the peak revenue is generated in the month of January and
then it dips till April and then linearly increases till December for the South region. While for the rest
of the zones, it is more or less the same.
6. From the overall sales we can say that South zone has most of the fast consumed clothing while
EAST zone with limited stores could have demand for premium clothing availability which would have
an average high bill amount sales.
7. if we select the second top selling product, it is MENS JACKET. Primarily it has good sales in the
North and EAST. a. With EAST having fewer stores and looking at the sales, we can assume that it is
one of the high bill items
8. Observing the product selling pattern with further analysis we can also identify the inventory
requirements across all zones, and this could help in efficient supply chain planning.
