2. SUBJECT DESCRIPTION
Macroeconomics is the study of collections of people and firms and how their interactions
through markets determine the overall economic activity in a country or region.
Macroeconomics focuses on issues of the economy as a whole, such as economic growth,
recession, inflation, unemployment, budget deficits, and trade deficits. In addition, by
approaching macroeconomic policies such as fiscal policy and monetary policy, the course
helps participants understand the impact of these policies on real GDP, people's income and

3. SUBJECT OBJECTIVES
This course aims to provide basic knowledge and skills to evaluate and analyze
macroeconomic phenomena and events. Also, this course is to improve students'
understanding of the dynamics of the economy and understand the macroeconomic policies
applied in developed countries that relate to issues in the following further used subjects.

Specifically, this course is designed as follows:

+ Introduction to concepts, techniques, and methods of measuring economic activities such as


GDP, CPI, inflation rate, unemployment rate, etc.
+ To help students understand the activities of the macroeconomy, and their interrelationships
through fundamental theories and models.
+ To evaluate how fiscal and monetary policies are used to curb the impact of the recession
on the domestic and global economic environment.
+ To understand the basic macroeconomic relationships of the open economy, trade, and the
impact of international capital flows.
+ To recognize the importance of factors contributing to contemporary long-term economic
growth performance.
4. SUBJECT OUTCOMES
4.1 Learning outcomes:
