HOW STRONG IS HASHIRAMA

Very few ninjas can flex their overwhelming power in just a short amount of screen
time, but Hashirama Senju? Well, he’s one of them. This man showed up and instantly
proved he was in a whole different league.
So yeah, a viewer asked for it, and here we are—time to break down Hashirama’s
insane strength.
But first, huge shoutout to everyone who’s been rocking with the channel everyday!
You, you, and you—All of you! Without you guys, these videos would just be floating
around the internet like lost jutsu scrolls. Every view, every comment, every like or
share is the ultimate chakra boost that keeps me going—diving into anime, breaking
down epic fights, and exploring the Naruto universe.
So seriously, thank you for being part of this journey!
Next goal: 10K subs—and I know we can do it. Let’s keep pushing forward together!
Love you all!
Now, let’s dive into the power of one of the greatest ninjas of all time.
Before the name "Hashirama Senju" was carved into the Hokage Rock and before he
became the legendary "God of Shinobi," he was already a prodigy since childhood.
Born into an era of brutal clan wars, where death lurked behind every tree,
Hashirama's talent shone through from an early age.
In fact, the first time he met Madara, he could tell the guy was already a skilled
shinobi just by watching him skip stones across a river—yeah, that’s how sharp his
instincts were.
And then, we see little Hashirama casually walking on water—at an age when most
ninjas in Naruto’s era were still figuring out how to throw a kunai properly.
During his time hanging out with Madara, the dude could already scale massive cliffs
just by focusing chakra into his feet. No ropes, no gear—just pure chakra control at a
level most ninjas at that age could only dream of.
And let’s not forget their first real battlefield encounter—when the Senju and Uchiha
clans ambushed each other. What did Madara do? He straight-up admitted that
Hashirama was stronger than him.
From that point on, as they kept clashing on the battlefield, we saw Hashirama
developing his iconic Wood Release. This was the era where he started flexing that
insane kekkei genkai.
Then came the turning point—Izuna’s death. Madara completely snapped. Losing his
last brother broke him, and he came back to settle things with Hashirama once and for
all. And let me remind you—by this time, Madara had unlocked the Eternal
Mangekyou Sharingan.
Madara with Eternal Mangekyou Sharingan? That’s a whole different monster. If you
wanna know just how strong he was, check out my “How Strong Is Madara” video.
But did he beat Hashirama? Nope.
They went at it for an entire day—nonstop combat—and for the first time in his life,
Madara hit the ground. That alone is wild. Most elite shinobi would be running on
fumes after just a few hours of intense fighting.
And Hashirama? Nah, this man was still standing, still throwing out massive Wood
Release jutsu like it was nothing. After a whole day of battling, he looked like he
could go another round.
And just like that—with the fall of the clan leader, the entire family is considered
defeated.
But instead of continuing the cycle of hatred, Hashirama chose the path of
reconciliation. With a vision that was ahead of its time, he convinced Madara to
compromise and together they founded a village where clans could live in peace.
And on his own, he built an entire village, complete with homes, defenses, and a full
infrastructure – a feat that, even from a modern perspective, still leaves people in awe.
A Ka_ghe isn’t just about protecting the village; Hashirama literally created it from
scratch.
However, after the Leaf Village was established and Hashirama became the First
Hokage, Madara started to feel discontent. He feared the Uchiha clan would be
oppressed by the Senju and lose their position, especially since Hashirama’s younger
brother, Tobirama (the future Second Hokage), was always suspicious of the Uchiha
clan.
Madara tried to convince his clan to resist the alliance, but no one listened. Feeling
betrayed and isolated, Madara left the Leaf Village, determined to grow stronger and
come back to challenge Hashirama. During this time, he managed to control the Nine-
Tails – the most powerful beast – with his Sharingan, turning it into a weapon to
attack the Leaf Village and confront his former friend.
And then the fateful day arrived – Madara Uchiha returned, not as an ally or a friend,
but as the deadliest enemy the Leaf Village had ever faced. This was a Madara armed
with the full arsenal of the Uchiha: the perfect Sharingan that allowed him to read and
predict every move, Susanoo, a chakra armor that was virtually invincible, and finally,
the power of the Nine-Tails – a walking chakra bomb capable of destroying a
mountain with just one strike. The Valley of the End became the battleground for a
fight that would later go down in history as one of the greatest ninja battles of all time,
not just for its scale, but for its historical significance.
Alright, now’s the perfect time to talk about Hashirama’s Wood Style.
Madara’s riding on the Nine-Tails, using his Eternal Mangekyou Sharingan to fully
control Kurama’s will. With those fiery red eyes and dark chakra, Madara commands
the Nine-Tails to unleash a massive Tailed Beast Ball, aiming straight for the Leaf
Village to wipe it out.
But of course, Hashirama isn’t just gonna sit around and let that happen. He steps up
and uses his Wood Style to counter.
And look at the size of Kurama – the strongest of the Nine-Tails – and here’s
Hashirama’s Wood Golem. It’s the same size as Kurama. And to make things even
crazier, the Wood Golem has this giant wooden dragon wrapping around it, slowly
sucking the Nine-Tails' chakra, weakening it little by little. When Kurama fires that
Tailed Beast Bomb, Hashirama’s Wood Golem just casually blocks it with one hand
and even almost turns the bomb around to smack the Nine-Tails back.
So, is Wood Golem like Hashirama’s top-tier jutsu? Nah, not really. This just shows
that Hashirama doesn’t need to go all out to deal with a beast like Kurama. He’s
basically just using his basics to take down the Nine-Tails.
Of course, the battle between these two legends gets even more lunatic. Madara brings
out Susanoo, combined with the Nine-Tails’ power, and that’s when we start seeing
some of the most insane Wood Style jutsu in action.
So, here’s where Hashirama’s Wood Style really takes the spotlight—when he goes
into Sage Mode.
He creates this massive Buddha statue with thousands of hands. The scale of this jutsu
is mind-blowing. The statue is taller than the mountains around it, and just to give you
an idea, if Kurama’s size is the same as Hashirama’s Wood Golem, then the Wood
Golem is like this tiny little figure sitting on top of the Buddha statue’s head.
And then, the Thousand Hands statue slams a thousand punches into Madara’s Nine-
Tails Susanoo at once, breaking through what’s basically Uchiha’s “absolute defense.”
The moment Kurama gets ripped away from Madara’s Susanoo is a total game-
changer, because Hashirama just took out the strongest shield Madara had.
Here’s a fun little tidbit most people don’t know: while most ninja need to take a
breather to gather natural energy and keep their Sage Mode active, Hashirama can just
flip the switch and activate Sage Mode instantly. What’s more, he can keep moving on
his wooden structures while still maintaining the mode. This gives him crazy
flexibility on the battlefield, where he’s able to attack from all angles while constantly
pumping up his power with Sage Mode.
Now, in the heat of battle, there’s probably no clearer sign of the power gap between
Hashirama and the rest of the ninja world than his ability to control the Tailed Beasts.
While Madara has to rely on his Eternal Mangekyou Sharingan—a seriously powerful
dojutsu—to control Kurama, Hashirama just uses his Wood Style to do the same
thing.
After Susanoo gets punched into oblivion and Kurama gets exposed, Hashirama’s
Wood Golem jumps down from the Buddha statue’s head and pulls off the Kakuan
Entering Society with Bliss-Bringing Hands—placing his hands on the Nine-Tails,
freeing it from Madara’s control, and forcing it to sleep.
And how does the battle end? Well, both of them are basically running on empty
chakra, throwing down with taijutsu and weapons until they can’t go any further.
So, while Madara's out here swinging his legendary Gunbai—this giant war fan that
can reflect pretty much any attack—Hashirama, He’s just using a regular sword. And
this right here is the perfect contrast: the guy doesn’t even need fancy weapons to
show how strong he is. It really shows off his taijutsu skills. The Uchiha clan is known
for being amazing at hand-to-hand combat and weaponry, but Hashirama, Yeah, he’s
not just keeping up with Madara; he's probably even better at it.
Now, the real turning point comes when Madara, completely drained and unable to
activate his Sharingan, loses his biggest advantage. Hashirama, though, despite being
exhausted himself, still has enough strength to use his Wood Style and create Wood
Clones to distract Madara, then hit him with a fatal blow from behind.
Okay, sure, Madara pulled the classic Izanagi trick to escape death, but what’s insane
is how tough Hashirama was throughout the whole battle.
And then, when the Nine-Tails itself couldn’t even phase Hashirama, how could the
other Tailed Beasts even compare? These chakra beasts are ridiculously strong, so
much so that they scare the entire ninja world. But Hashirama just grabs one like it's
no big deal, splits it up, and hands it off to the villages like he's giving out puppies.
Honestly, if Hashirama wasn’t such a peace-loving guy and actually used the Tailed
Beasts for war purposes, the entire ninja world map might just be one big Fire
Country.
All in all, Wood Style is ridiculously OP. There are plenty of jutsu out there that can
control the battlefield, but altering the terrain and having a widespread impact like
that? Yeah, only Hashirama can pull that off.
When you stack Wood Style up against other Kekkei Genkai, it’s not just strong in
terms of offense—it’s versatile as heck and has an insane impact on a massive scale.
But here’s the thing, No matter how strong your jutsu is, the more you use those
powerful techniques, the more chakra you burn through. So, chakra and durability are
basically the roots of your power. If Hashirama can spam Wood Style like it’s going
out of style with that insane scale, just imagine how much chakra the guy has.
Being a direct descendant of the Senju clan and, on top of that, the reincarnation of
Asura Ōtsutsuki, Hashirama's life force is pretty much endless. Seriously, when it
comes to chakra reserves, very few shinobi can even come close to his. I mean, just
look at how he uses his chakra to warn Tobirama. The two Senju just stand there, and
boom—a shockwave that shatters the earth and makes the air feel like there’s an
earthquake happening. Yeah, no big deal.
But if you want a bit more detail, let’s talk about the Fourth Great Ninja War. After
seeing Naruto Uzumaki distribute his chakra along with the Nine-Tails to the entire
Allied Shinobi Forces, Hashirama straight-up said that the amount of chakra being
shared was almost on par with his own reserves. So yeah, his chakra reserves are
bigger than a combined Uzumaki and Nine-Tails. Mind-blowing, right?
And on top of that crazy chakra, his body is packed with vitality, meaning he can heal
from most injuries without a trace. Meanwhile, Madara—though insanely powerful—
still gets worn out and scarred from battle. Hashirama just keeps healing and powering
up, never slowing down.
This is basically the auto-heal mechanism that Tsunade—Hashirama's granddaughter
—would later copy with her Byakugou Seal. Seriously, that technique is nuts—
Susanoo can’t even finish her off. And yet, when Madara fought the Five Kage, he
mocked Tsunade’s technique, calling it a knock-off of Hashirama’s. And let’s be real,
Byakugo and Naruto’s Nine-Tails powers? Yeah, they’re close, but they’re still
nowhere near the insane healing abilities Hashirama has.
Just a moment—do you guys remember the time when Hashirama was about to end it
all with a kunai to bring peace between the two clans? I gotta say, I actually laughed
when I read that. Like, seriously. With his crazy fast healing abilities, I honestly don’t
know where that kunai would need to stab for him to actually die. A lot of ninjas have
died from a kunai, but Nah, Hashirama probably would’ve just shut off his auto-heal
mechanism to let himself die in that case, right?
Now, Hashirama’s Wood Style and healing abilities became some of the most sought-
after secrets in the ninja world. It sparked a serious hunger for power from those
always chasing after more. Orochimaru’s probably the clearest example of that. The
guy was obsessed with surpassing human limits his entire life, and Hashirama was the
perfect example of someone who had surpassed those limits. And he wasn’t alone in
that ambition—anyone chasing power, anyone dreaming of immortality, would be
dying to get their hands on that kind of strength.
But here’s the thing—Hashirama’s Wood Style and healing are Not exactly something
you can just copy easily. Orochimaru did countless experiments, especially on
children, trying to figure out how to implant Hashirama’s DNA into other bodies. And
the result? Pretty much all of them died. A regular human body just can’t handle the
massive power of that superior genetic material.
Of course, not everything was a failure. A few lucky ones survived, and that’s how we
got Yamato—one of the rare few who can actually use Wood Style after all those
experiments.
Honestly, this guy is really something. He can create wooden structures and even
control the power of the Tailed Beasts to some degree. That’s actually why Tsunade
asked him to lead Team 7 for a while. But his abilities are nowhere near Hashirama’s
level. The gap between the original and the copy is just huge, it’s not even fair to
compare them. Hashirama literally created a village out of nothing, grew forests with
Wood Style, and went solo to catch Tailed Beasts. And what does Yamato do? Most
of the time, he’s just using Wood Style to hold Naruto back when Nine Tails goes
wild, and the wooden structures he creates aren’t exactly massive.
Later on, we see Obito and Madara using Wood Style as well, and, yeah they're way
more powerful than Yamato or Danzo ever were. Obito Uchiha got his Wood Style by
implanting Hashirama’s cells after his accident on the Kannabi Bridge. His Wood
Style is more practical and straightforward, focusing mostly on basic offensive
techniques and reinforcing his body in battle. This power mainly supports his Kamui,
but it lacks the creativity and depth of Hashirama’s abilities. Plus, it’s easy for faster
opponents like Minato to outmaneuver him.
Then, during the Fourth Ninja War, Obito uses Wood Style more and on a larger
scale, but again, it’s mostly just direct attacks and piercing strikes. Nothing too fancy.
On the other hand, Madara Uchiha took Wood Style and combined it with the godly
power of the Rinnegan and the Ten Tails. Unlike Obito, Madara actually studied
Wood Style in-depth and developed unique techniques like Wood Clone and the
Flower Tree World—a jutsu that can control the entire battlefield with sedative pollen.
The scale of his Wood Style is massive, and his power with it is the closest to
Hashirama’s, but it’s still more about sheer destructive force than the finesse and
natural flow Hashirama had. but Madara’s weaknesses are His arrogance and over-
reliance on external powers to reach the top.
So, we could say that Obito is kind of the embodiment of borrowed strength with no
real harmony, while Madara shows his ambition to break through natural limits at any
cost. But still, when it comes to Wood Style, Hashirama is the true peak. He’s the only
one who can use this power in a complete and balanced way, turning it into an art of
fighting.
With his Wood Style, before Madara got his hands on the Rinnegan, Hashirama had
never lost to him in any battle. He could’ve taken Madara out in any of their fights,
but the thing is, Hashirama considered Madara a friend, and being the pacifist he was,
he never went all-out. I mean, come on, he could beat Madara and the full Nine-Tails
and still win—it shows how huge the gap between them really was.
Now, sure, Wood Style is iconic, but let’s not forget about the other aspects of his
abilities.
As the elite descendant of the Senju clan, Hashirama had a huge repertoire of ninja
techniques and mastered them way beyond the average shinobi.
For instance, this guy could summon five Rashomon gates, while even skilled ninjas
only manage one. Heck, Orochimaru could summon three.
On top of that, Hashirama’s barrier ninjutsu skills were top-tier. He, along with the
three previous Ka_ghe, created a barrier powerful enough to control the Ten Tails, the
strongest creature in the ninja world. And, at the same time, he made wooden gates
that acted like clamps to control the Tailed Beasts' tails.
And it’s pretty safe to assume that this guy was also a master of sealing jutsu. Back in
his day, he was always carrying a giant sealing scroll, which let him store various
weapons for use in battle.
All of this shows that Hashirama’s weapon skills were on par with Madara’s, one of
the Uchiha clan’s finest warriors.
More than that, His sealing skills were so strong that they could break Madara’s
control over the Nine-Tails—pretty impressive, especially considering how powerful
the Sharingan is when it comes to controlling Tailed Beasts.
And if Madara needed a hand-seal chain to break free from Edo Tensei control, Itachi
could override Edo Tensei with Kotoamatsukami (one of the most powerful genjutsu,
right after Eternal Tsukuyomi), then Hashirama could just break out of Edo Tensei on
his own—whenever he wanted. The guy was just built different.
That means, if he wanted to, he could’ve come back to life with an immortal body—
like straight-up living forever. But, that was never really his thing.
If Wood Style was the highlight of Hashirama’s skills, his mastery of every other field
of ninjutsu—whether it’s defense, sealing, or medical jutsu—is what really made him
the most well-rounded shinobi out there. He totally earned that “God of Shinobi” title
that Konoha history gave him.
All right, that’s it for today, thanks for watching, and we’ll see you next time!
