TRAINING PROGRAM

This program aims to build fundamental basketball skills gradually, with the final day focused on reinforcing
these skills through game situations. Each day incorporates both skill development and actual gameplay,
ensuring players improve both individually and as part of a team.

KWAME TUUDAH
Day 1: Re-introduction to Basketball & Basic Dribbling

 Warm-up (15 minutes): Dynamic stretches, light jogging, and agility drills.
 Fundamental Skills (45 minutes):
o Basic ball control, stationary dribbling, and dribbling while moving.
o Right and left-hand dribbling drills.
o Dribbling in different directions (forward, backward, side to side).
 Skill Development (45 minutes):
o Dribbling under pressure: Partnered or group drills with defenders.
o Speed dribbling: Practice dribbling with speed while maintaining control.
 Scrimmage (30 minutes): A controlled game where players can practice their dribbling skills
in real situations.
 Cool-down (15 minutes): Static stretching and breathing exercises.

Day 2: Passing and Receiving

 Warm-up (15 minutes): Light jogging, dynamic stretches, and passing in pairs.
 Fundamental Skills (45 minutes):
o Partner passing drills: Focus on accuracy and timing.
o Passing while moving.
 Skill Development (45 minutes):
o Pass and cut drills: Players pass and immediately cut to the basket or a new spot.
o Passing under pressure: Add defensive players to make passing more challenging.
 Scrimmage (30 minutes): Emphasize good passing and teamwork during the game.
 Cool-down (15 minutes): Static stretching.

Day 3: Shooting Fundamentals

Day 4: Defense Basics

Day 5: Rebounding and Boxing Out

Day 6: Teamwork and Communication

o 3-on-3 drills: Focus on working as a team, setting screens, passing, and moving without
the ball.
 Skill Development (45 minutes):

 Scrimmage (30 minutes): Focus on teamwork and communication during the game(NO
TALKING DURING MATCH).
 Cool-down (15 minutes): Static stretching.

Day 7: Conditioning & Agility

 Warm-up (15 minutes): Dynamic stretches and light running.


 Conditioning Drills (45 minutes):
o Suicides and sprints for speed and endurance.
o Agility drills: Ladder drills, cone drills, and side shuffles.
 Skill Development (45 minutes):
o Fast-break drills: Work on sprinting down the court and finishing at the basket.
o Transition offense/defense: Practice quick transitions from offense to defense and vice
versa.
 Scrimmage (30 minutes): Emphasize fast breaks and conditioning during the game.
 Cool-down (15 minutes): Static stretching and relaxation.

Day 8: Ball Handling under Pressure


 Warm-up (15 minutes): Dynamic stretching and light jogging.
 Fundamental Skills (45 minutes):
o Dribbling under pressure: Defenders apply pressure while players practice keeping
control.
o Ball-handling drills with cones: Work on quickness and control.
 Skill Development (45 minutes):
o 1v1 ball-handling situations: Players work on getting past a defender.
o Full-court dribbling under pressure: Simulate game-like conditions with full-court
pressure.
 Scrimmage (30 minutes): Focus on handling the ball under pressure.
 Cool-down (15 minutes): Static stretching.

Day 9: Game Strategies & Situational Play

 Team Strategies (45 minutes):
