IBP Configuration Configure and Use Change History in SAP IBP

In SAP IBP, the change history feature allows you to track changes made to
key figures over time. This can be particularly useful for auditing and
understanding how data has evolved. Here's how you can enable and use
this feature:

1. Enable Change History: First, you need to enable the change history
for the planning area and the specific key figures you want to track.
This can be done in the configuration settings.

2. Capture Changes: Once enabled, the system will capture various


details about changes, including:

o Modified by: The user who made the change.

o Modified date: The date and time when the change was made.

o Modified value: The new value after the change.

o Attributes: Any relevant attributes associated with the change.

o Reason code: The reason for the change, if specified.

o Comments: Any additional comments provided during the


change.

3. View Change History: You can view the change history in


the Change History Analysis app within the SAP IBP web interface.
This app allows you to filter changes by various criteria, such as
specific key figures, dates, or users. You can also download the change
history to a CSV file for further analysis.

4. Best Practices: Since tracking changes can be performance-intensive,


it's recommended to enable this feature only for essential data.
Regularly purging old change history data can help manage system
performance.

By following these steps, you can effectively monitor and analyze changes to
key figures in SAP IBP, ensuring better control and transparency in your

1. Configure the change history by selecting the Change History indicator in


your planning area and for the CONSENSUSDEMANDQTY key figure, and
activate your planning area, if you made a change to they key figure
settings.
a. Enable change history in planning area

b. Enable change history in specific key figure

c. Activate planning area.

2. In the Planner Workspace, make changes to the CONSENSUSDEMANDQTY


key figure values. Save your changes, assign a reason code of your choice,
and enter a comment.

a. Create new planning view with key figure CONSENSUSDEMANDQTY


b. Make changes to the CONSENSUSDEMANDQTY key figure, save, select a
reason code and add a comment explaining why the data changes was
necessary.
c. Save

3. In the IBP Web UI, read the change history log for your planning area,
using the Change History Analysis app.

a. On the SAP Fiori launchpad home page, in the General Planner screen
area, choose Change History Analysis.

b. In the Change History Analysis screen, choose planning area, version, key
figure, attributes, and time period, then Go, create change history report.

c. Observe that the change history. You can view the previous value, the new
value, the change by value, the reason code, and the comment
d. Download the report for further processing.
