Wireless or cordless technology:

i. Wireless or cordless keyboard and mouse are available for the computers. This
technology categorized as three types, 1. Radio frequency, 2. Infrared, and 3.
Bluetooth
ii. Above all technologies has one receiving section and one transmit section
iii. Radio frequency range : 27 mhz to 2.4 ghz
iv. Radio frequency uses RF technology
v. Infrared uses light waves technology
vi. Bluetooth uses Bluetooth protocol technology
Light pen : it’s like a pen and it uses photo sensor technology. It detects light, and photo sensor
transmits its equivalent signal to the CPU, and the pen works. Specially this is use to draw a picture.
It’s generally used in Computer aided designing (CAD)
Scanner : its scans the hard copy document and save it as its digital form. Flatbed scanners are
commonly used, its like a photocopy or Xerox machine. Documents are placed on the glass surface
area and an ultra violet light passes beneath it through a mechanically driven head. It captures high
resolution images. Generally it performs following actions

per user requirements.

Normally a screen consists of 24 horizontal lines and each line, 80 character can be placed.
Pixel: each character is made up of a number of tiny, lighted dots known as pixels.
Printers: printer is a well-known output device which prints the digital form of the documents and
gives output as a hardcopy.
Selection of printers can be choosing on the following features:
1. Quality of printing
2. Speed of printing
3. Type of printers: whether it is impact or non-impact printer
4. Cost of printer
Impact printer:
(a) Dot matrix printer
(b) Line printer
(c) Daisy wheel printer
Non-impact printer:
(a) Inkjet printer
(b) Laser printer
(c) Thermal matrix printer
