- STS is called Science, Technology, and Society because it studies the interactions

developments shape and are shaped by society, rather than focusing solely on
sociological perspectives.

2. How do Science and Technology help in human flourishing? (10 points)

boosted productivity and innovation in industries.

However, technological progress also has drawbacks. Automation has displaced workers,

Overall, while technology has advanced human capabilities and quality of life, it requires
responsible use to mitigate its negative effects and ensure equitable benefits for all .

Healthcare will see breakthroughs in gene editing, personalized medicine, and AI-driven
diagnostics, leading to longer, healthier lives. Diseases may be prevented before they
develop, and regenerative medicine could replace damaged organs.
Environmental sustainability will benefit from clean energy innovations, such as
advanced solar panels, nuclear fusion, and carbon capture technologies, reducing reliance

and plastic pollution.
