Summary
It all started with the seven year war, in which France gave their North American territories to
Great Britain, who decided it was a good idea to make a tax legislation, but this not wor
making the colonies very unhappy because everything had taxes. Because of this 12
delegates of different colonies met together to know what was going to happen. At the start
they tried to negotiate with Britain but that did not work, causing the start of the American
Revolution.

A lot of battles occurred, but one of them gave an advantage to the colonies, that was when
they took the Front Ticonderoga, which had a lot of guns, because of this Washington gets
his first victory and manages to get Britain out of Boston. Also, people began considering the
idea of being independent, because of a pamphlet called “Common sense”, so on the 2nd of
July of 1776 the delegates voted for an independence from the British and Thomas Jefferson
wrote a formal declaration.

The battles between the Americans and Britain still are going on but France and Spain
decide to join in to help the rebels, so with the help of this countries and a lot of battles, in
1783 the Treaty of Paris is signed, meaning that the U.S is recognized as an independent
country, with its first President being George Washington.
