SOLUTION

1. What least number must be added to 1056, so that the sum is

completely divisible by 23 ?
Soln:
Option : A
When we divide 1056 by 23 the remainder will be 21.
So, the required number = (23 - 21) = 2
1056 + 2 = 1058 which is completely divisible.

2. Identify the number which is divisible by 13.

Soln:
Option : A
When we divide 923 by 13 the remainder will be 0.

3. The difference of two numbers is 1365. On dividing the larger

number by the smaller, we get 6 as quotient and the 15 as
remainder. What is the smaller number ?
Soln:
Option : B
Let the smaller number be x. Then larger number = (x + 1365).
x + 1365 = 6x + 15
5x = 1350
x = 270
Smaller number = 270.

The factors of 72 are 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 9, 12, 18, 24, 36 and 72.
There are 12 factors.

8. The smallest 3 digit prime number is:

Soln:
Option :A
The smallest 3-digit number is 100, which is divisible by 2.
√101 < 11 and 101 is not divisible by any of the prime numbers 2,
3, 5, 7, 11.
Hence 101 is the smallest 3-digit prime number.

Soln:

Option :C
8597 – X = 3071
X = 5526

13. 8000 ÷ 16-200 = ? × 6

Soln:

Option :C
500 – 200 = X x 6
X = 50
14. Find the HCF of 144, 336 and 2016?

Soln:

Option :D
144 = 32 x 24
336 = 3 x 24 x 7
2016 = 32 x 25 x 7
HCF = 24 x 3 = 48

15. √256 × √169 +3600÷ 12 = 800 -?

Soln:

Option :D
16 x 13 +300 = 800 – X
X = 292
16. The greatest number of four digits which is divisible by
15, 25, 40 and 75 is:

Soln:

Option :C

LCM of 15, 25, 40 and 75 is 600

9999 / 600 → R=399
So, Answer = 9999-399 = 9600
