Assignment: International Expansion Proposal for Global Growth

Assignment Scenario:
You are a consultant for a local company in your country considering expanding its operations
internationally. Your task is to prepare a proposal on how the company can successfully enter
international markets. You can choose one of the following industries to create an international
expansion plan for:

1. Tourism and Hospitality or


2. Agriculture and Food Processing.

The proposal should be 2500 words (10 pages excluding the Cover page, Table of Contents,
Bibliography)

Assignment Guidelines:

Your proposal should cover the following areas:

1. Executive Summary (Please keep to one page) (5 marks)

 Provide an overview of what you will cover in your paper.


 State the purpose of the assignment.
 Mention the key points you will discuss in each section of the paper.

2. Company Overview (10 marks)


 Give an in-depth overview of the company you are advising.
 Include details about the company's history, current operations, and core strengths.
 Explain why international expansion is a good strategy for the company.

3. International Business Environment (20 marks)

 Conduct a detailed SWOT analysis for the potential country of expansion (THREE
points per category. These should be written in complete sentences)
 Evaluate key cultural factors that may impact business operations in the target market.
Use Hofstede's six cultural dimensions to assess how cultural differences might affect
the company's success in expanding internationally.

4. Market Entry Strategy (15 marks)

 Discuss the different market entry modes, giving an example of each.


 Recommend the best one for the company based on its resources and goals.

5. International Business Strategies (15 marks)

 Discuss the key international business strategies that could help the company succeed
internationally.
 You are to recommend the best international strategy for the company based on its
resources and goals.

6. Conclusion (5 marks)

 Summarize your key findings and recommendations for international expansion.


 Highlight any risks, challenges, or areas that need further consideration before the
company proceeds with its expansion plans.

Grammar: (5 Marks)

 Ensure your paper is free from grammatical, spelling, and awkward phrasing errors.
 Pay attention to sentence structure, punctuation, and clarity of expression.
 Use formal, academic language throughout the assignment.

Marks will be deducted for typographical and grammatical errors

7. APA 7th Edition System (15 Marks)


 Properly cite all sources you reference in the paper using APA style.
 In-text citations should correspond to the reference list at the end of your document.
 The reference list should be formatted according to APA 7th edition guidelines.

 Presentation of the paper is APA 7th edition formatted

Formatting and Presentation Requirements:

 Cover Page: Include the company selected, your name, student ID, submission date,
course code, course name, and CI information.
 Table of Contents: List all sections of your report with corresponding page numbers.
 Headings and Subheadings: Use clear and concise headings for each section.
 Spacing: Use double line spacing throughout the document.
 Font: Times New Roman, 12-point font.
 Margins: 1-inch margins on all sides.
 Page Numbers: Number pages starting from the Executive Summary.
 References: Include at least 12 academic sources, with at least 8 peer-reviewed journal
articles, following APA citation style.

Submission Instructions:

 Submit your assignment as a Microsoft Word file.


 Upload it to the Turnitin drop box titled "Assessment 1 Dropbox - (Individual)
Report" before the deadline (March 2, 11:59 pm ECT/10:59 JA).
 You have multiple attempts to check for plagiarism and make revisions. After 3 attempts,
you will have to wait 24 hours for the next submission to be processed.
 The total mark for this assignment is 90, which will be converted to 30% to get the mark
for this component of the course assignments.

incorrect file name
