1. In a survey of 100 students, it was found that 35 like mathematics, 40 like physics,
and 10 like both. How many students like neither mathematics nor physics ?
2. Prove that cos4x = 1 - 8sin²xcos²x.
3. Solve with number line : 4 x+3 ≥ 3 x+ 17 ,3 x−5<−2.
4. Find the equation of the ellipse with foci (±3, 0) and vertices (±5, 0).
5. If the 3rd and the 9th terms of an AP are 4 and -8, respectively, then which term of
this AP is zero.
(Only For PCM Students)
6. To receive Grade ‘A’ in a course, one must obtain an average of 90 marks or more
in five examinations (each of 100 marks). If Sunita’s marks in the first four
examinations are 87, 92, 94 and 95, find the minimum marks that Sunita must obtain
in the fifth examination to get Grade ‘A’ in the course.

6. A residential electricity provider has the following tariff structure:

 Fixed charge: ₹150 per month


 Tier 1 (0-100 units): ₹6 per unit
 Tier 2 (101-250 units): ₹8 per unit
 Tier 3 (251-500 units): ₹10 per unit
 Tier 4 (Above 500 units): ₹12 per unit
 Electricity Duty: 4% of the total energy charge

A) "A customer consumes 320 units of electricity in a month. Calculate the total energy
charge for the consumed units."
B) "A household consumes 550 units of electricity. Calculate the total electricity bill,
including the fixed charge and electricity duty."

1 . A, B, C, D and E are five friends. They prepared some numbered cards with labelled from 11
to 60 and then they put all the number cards in the empty box. In this game, every friend was
asked to pick the card randomly and after each draw, card was replaced back in the box.
(a) Find the probability that the number on the drawn card is an odd number (1)
(b) Find the probability that the number on the drawn card is a perfect square number (1)
(c) Find the probability that the number on the drawn card is divisible by 5 (1)
(d) Find the probability that the number on the drawn card is a prime number less than 20 (1)
(e) What is range of probability (1)

2. India is competitive manufacturing location due to the low cost of manpower and strong
technical and engineering capabilities contributing to higher quality production runs. The
production of TV sets in a factory increases uniformly by a fixed number every year. It produced
16000 sets in 6th year and 22600 in 9th year.
