applications of right triangles involving angles of elevation and angles of
depression.
1. Create a justification process whether the beam clear the wires on its way or
not to standing up straight.
2. You may apply the concepts of Solving Right Triangles involving angle of
elevation and angle of depression.
3. Show your solutions in a logical manner. Use IGAFS way to present your
work. (IGAFS: Illustration/diagram-Given-Asked-Formula-Solutions)
4. Scoring will be based on the rubric given.
Page 13

heavy beam so that it is standing up straight.
They tie a rope to the beam, secure the base,
and pull the rope through a pulley to raise one
end of the beam from the ground. When the
beam makes an angle of 40° with the ground,
the top of the beam is 8 ft above the ground.

In previous modules, you’ve learned how to construct and how to use your
own clinometer to measure the angle of elevation and angle of depression and
identifying the height of tall things that is out of your reach. For the activity below,
just follow the instructions for you to be guided.
Task to do:
1. Using your self-made clinometer, look at least two tall objects that you
can see in your surroundings and measure the angle of elevation per
object.
2. Attach a picture where you are currently measuring the two objects and
paste it in a long bond paper.
3. Create your own word problem with complete label and measurements
and choose for your unknown value.
4. Show your solutions by following the IGAFS steps.
