SAMPLE PROFICIENCY TEST

This sample test has been prepared to help students planning to take proficiency in English
test given by the School of Foreign Languages, Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University.

This test includes two sessions. In the first session, there is a test of 80 questions. Within
this test, there are 10 listening questions that measure the listening skills of the students.
The rest of the test (70 questions) includes the use of English type questions (grammar,
vocabulary, reading comprehension).

In the second session of the test, there are writing and speaking exams. Only those who
succeed in the first session of the test will be allowed to take the exams in the second
session.

Instructions
 Choose one of the given topics and write an essay of 200-250 words using a suitable format and the
