Q1) Low Engagement in Live Doubt-Solving and Personalized Mentorship Programs

Problem Analysis
It’s worrying that only 40% of students are actively participating in live doubt-solving
sessions and mentorship programs. These features were introduced to create a more
interactive and personalized learning environment, so the low engagement suggests
there are some underlying issues. Here’s what I think:

1. Lack of Awareness:
If I didn’t know about the live sessions or mentorship, I wouldn’t think to use them.
Sometimes, students aren’t fully aware of these features or don’t realize how they
can benefit from them.

2. User Experience Issues:

The process might be difficult to navigate. If I had trouble finding sessions or booking
mentorship, I’d probably skip them altogether. A confusing interface or complicated
process is a big turn-off.

3. Scheduling Conflicts:
College life is hectic. If the sessions are at fixed times that don’t match my schedule, I
won’t be able to attend. Flexibility would make it much easier for students to engage.

4. Technical Difficulties:
If I faced connectivity issues or poor audio/video quality during live sessions, I’d
quickly lose interest. No one wants to sit through a glitchy session.

5. Not Seeing the Value:

If I didn’t feel like my questions were being addressed or the sessions weren’t
personalized, I wouldn’t be inclined to use them. If the features don’t add value to
my experience, they become easy to ignore.

Strategies to Increase Engagement

1. Raise Awareness:
What needs to be done:
We need to make sure all students know about the live sessions and mentorship
programs and understand how they can help improve their learning experience. This
could be done through emails, notifications on the app, and social media posts
showcasing the benefits.
Who will be responsible:
The Marketing Team will take charge of the campaign, with support from the
Content Team to craft engaging messages and materials.
Expected outcome:
By raising awareness, more students will start using the features, which should lead
to higher engagement.
2. Improve User Experience:
What needs to be done:
The platform needs to be intuitive. I’d suggest simplifying the process of joining
sessions, booking mentorship, and ensuring automatic reminders. It’s also important
to ensure the app or website is easy to navigate.
Who will be responsible:
The Product Team and Engineering Team can work together to improve the user
interface and simplify the booking process.
Expected outcome:
With a smoother, more user-friendly experience, students will feel more
comfortable using these features, and engagement will go up.

3. Offer Flexible Scheduling:

What needs to be done:
The platform should give students more control over when they can join sessions or
book one-on-one mentorship. Introducing an on-demand option where students can
access recorded sessions or talk to a mentor when it fits their schedule could make a
big difference.
Who will be responsible:
The Product Team would be responsible for adding this flexibility, and the
Mentorship Team would manage the availability of mentors.
Expected outcome:
Flexibility in scheduling would increase participation, as students with varying
schedules can engage when it’s most convenient for them.

Expected Impact on Physics Wallah’s Goal:

By addressing these issues, Physics Wallah can create a more engaging environment
for students, ultimately making these features a core part of the learning experience.
This will help fulfill the company’s mission to make education more accessible,
engaging, and tailored to students’ needs.

Q2) Pitch for a "Skills Category" for College Students

Defining the Skills Category

As a college student, I know that there’s a gap between academic learning and the
skills needed to succeed in the professional world. Here’s what I think should be part
of the new “Skills Category”:

1. Soft Skills:
Communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and leadership. These are essential for
building professional relationships and succeeding in the workplace.

2. Technical Skills:
Coding (Python, Java, etc.), data analysis, web development—skills that are valuable
across almost every field today, not just in tech.
3. Career Skills:
Resume building, job search strategies, and interview prep. These skills are crucial
for students who want to land internships or jobs right after college.

4. Personal Development:
Time management, stress management, goal setting, and other self-management
skills. These will help students cope with the pressures of academics and personal
life.

These skills are essential because they complement what we learn in the classroom
and prepare us for life after college, whether in the workplace or in further
education.

Market Need and Opportunity

Why College Students Need These Skills:

College students today often have excellent academic knowledge but struggle with
soft skills and practical job-ready skills. Employers are looking for candidates who are
not just knowledgeable but can also communicate well, work in teams, and handle
stress. A survey by the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) shows
that communication and problem-solving are among the top skills employers look for.

How This Will Set Physics Wallah Apart:

Most online platforms focus on academic subjects, but this new Skills Category will
offer students a comprehensive learning experience that prepares them for both
academic success and professional growth. By offering these courses, Physics Wallah
will position itself as more than just an academic platform—it will become a go-to
destination for students’ overall development.

Implementation Plan

1. Content Creation:
We’ll need experts to create engaging courses for these skills. This could include
working with industry professionals for career-related content and experienced
instructors for personal development and soft skills training.

2. Course Formats:
The courses could be delivered through video lectures, live workshops, and
interactive activities (like coding challenges or resume-building exercises). For soft
skills, role-playing or scenario-based learning would be effective.

3. Quality Assurance:
The Content Team should ensure that each course is well-structured, up-to-date
with industry trends, and aligned with students’ needs. Regular feedback from
students would help improve the content over time.
4. Resources/Partnerships:
To enhance the quality of the content, Physics Wallah could partner with
organizations like LinkedIn Learning, Coursera, or recruitment platforms to create
specialized content or provide access to job opportunities.

Growth Strategy

1. Marketing Campaigns:
Use social media platforms (Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube) to create campaigns that
highlight the benefits of the new category. Sharing real stories of students who’ve
used the skills to land internships or improve their careers could be a powerful way
to showcase value.
Partner with student influencers or campus clubs to spread the word and generate
buzz around these courses.

2. Free Trials & Webinars:

Offering free access to some introductory content or hosting live webinars on topics
like “How to Write an Effective Resume” or “Mastering Interview Skills” can drive
interest and encourage students to enroll in the full courses.

3. Measure Success:
We’ll measure success through enrollment rates, student feedback, and how many
students land internships or improve their job prospects after completing these
courses. Additionally, monitoring course completion rates and engagement metrics
will help track the impact.

Expected Outcomes:
The Skills Category will equip students with the tools they need to succeed both
during and after college. By offering a mix of soft, technical, career, and personal
development skills, Physics Wallah will stand out from other platforms that focus
solely on academic content. This will not only help students land better internships
and jobs but will also position Physics Wallah as a leader in holistic education.
