Lab Task: Output Devices and Their Types
Introduction
Computers process data and provide results through output devices. These devices help users see,
hear, or receive information in a usable form. Output devices convert processed digital data into
human-understandable formats such as text, graphics, sound, or physical copies.
Output devices are categorized into three main types: visual output devices, audio output
devices, and hard copy output devices.

1. Visual Output Devices:


These devices display digital information in a visual format, allowing users to see text, images,
videos, and graphical content.
Examples of Visual Output Devices:
1. Monitor – Displays text, images, and videos on a screen. Common types include LCD,
LED, and OLED monitors.
2. Projector – Enlarges the computer screen and projects it onto a wall or screen for
presentations.
3. Smart TV – Functions as both a television and a computer display, supporting internet
connectivity.

2. Audio Output Devices:
These devices convert digital signals into sound, enabling users to hear audio from the computer.
Examples of Audio Output Devices:
1. Speakers – Produce sound from the computer, used for music, videos, and system
notifications.
2. Headphones – Provide personal audio output, allowing users to listen without disturbing
others.
3. Soundbars – Enhance the audio quality of computers, TVs, or multimedia systems.

Examples of Hard Copy Output Devices:

2. Plotter – Used for printing large-scale designs, such as architectural blueprints and
engineering drawings.
3. Braille Embosser – Produces raised dots on paper for visually impaired individuals to
