Computer Network

A computer network is a system of interconnected devices that share data and resources, facilitating communication. Networks can be categorized into Local Area Networks (LANs) for smaller areas and Wide Area Networks (WANs) for larger regions, including the internet. They enhance efficiency by allowing users to exchange information and access shared hardware and software.

Computer Networks

A computer network is a system where two or more computers and devices (like printers, phones, or
servers) are connected to each other. This connection allows them to share data, resources, and
communicate efficiently. Networks can be set up in various ways, depending on the size and needs
of the users:
• Local Area Network (LAN): Covers a small area, like a home, office, or building.
• Wide Area Network (WAN): Covers a larger area, like a city, country, or even globally (the
internet is a WAN).
Computer networks make it easier for people to exchange information, access shared software and
files, and use shared hardware (like printers), help them to save time and resources.

A computer network is a collection of interconnected devices, like computers, smartphones, or other

hardware, that communicate and share resources with each other. This connection allows devices to
exchange information, such as data files, messages, and internet access.
Networks can vary in size and complexity, ranging from small networks, like those within a home
or office (Local Area Networks, or LANs), to vast networks that covers cities or countries (Wide
Area Networks, or WANs). The internet itself is the prime example of a computer network.
