you you always guide us, please forgive us for the sin that we’ve made
and may you give us a strength in our every day lives, may you give
us enough knowledge thank you.”

5.8x-8y
You simply take what's on the outside of the parentheses and
"distribute" it to each term on the inside using multiplication. If there
are more than two terms inside the parentheses, you just have to make
sure to distribute to each one.

C. Motivation Let’s Play! (Find Me, The Answer)

There’s a Jumbled Flashcard with Problem and Answer that will give
to each student and find answer of that problem. Some Flash card is
empty and that’s means you are safe.

D. Establishing a Purpose for This may help you to break down complex problems into simpler ones,
the lesson making it easier to solve. By understanding this, you’ll become a more
confident and skilled problem-solver.
E. Presenting example/ What I know? -
Instances of the lesson Let us examine the given problem and try to answer the given 1.3x^2+7x-6 2. 5x^3-5x^2-8x+4
problem. 3.10xy+15x+4y+6
1. (3x-2)(x+3) 2. (5x^2-4)(2x-1)
3.(5x+2)(2y+3)
Answer Key
1.3x^2+7x-6 2. 5x^3-5x^2-8x+4
3.10xy+15x+4y+6

Discussion of Activity:
To simplify this type of problem, you just need to distribute twice.
Distribute the first term, then distribute the second term.Later on we
will discussing it how that happened.
F. Discussing new concept In the past discussion, where is distributive property was discuss ,
there was only one term on the outside of the parentheses. When you
multiply two binomials, the only difference is that there will be two
terms out front instead of one (remember, binomial means 2 terms).
Like what I’ve said earlier,to simplify this type of problem, you just
need to distribute twice. Distribute the first term, then distribute the
second term. For example:

Simplify (x+5)(x+2)

First pretend that the 5 isn’t there and distribute the x first.

(x+5)(x+2) = x^2+ 2x
Ignore the 2nd term for now

Next, distribute the 2nd term

(x+5)(x+2)= x^2+2x+5x+10
Ignore the 1st term now.
Last, combine like terms to get the simplified answer.

x^2 + 2x +5x + 10 = x^2 + 7x + 10

When you multiply two binomials together, you're just using the
distributive property twice. This is often called the "FOIL" method.
FOIL stands for Firsts, Outsides, Insides, Lasts. It's the same exact
process that was described earlier. Let’s look to other example:

Simplify (x+1)(x-6)

Step 1: Multiply the “First”

F
(x+1)(x-6) = x^2
Multiply the “first” together

Step 2: Multiply the “Outsides”

F O
(x+1)(x-6) = x^2 -6x
Multiply the “outsides” together
Step 3: Multiply the “Insides”
F O I
(x+1)(x-6) = x^2 -6x +x
Multiply the “insides” together

Step 4: Multiply the “Lasts”

F O I L
(x+1)(x-6) = x^2 -6x +x -6
Multiply the “Lasts” together

Step 5: Combine like terms to get simplified answer.

F O I L
x^2 -6x +x -6 = x^2 -5x-6

You can call the process distributing twice, or you can call it FOIL. In
Practicing new Skills #1 the problem above if you distribute the x first you get the "F" and "O"
terms. Then if you distribute the 1 next you get the "I" and "L" terms.
It doesn't matter what you call the process, you get the same exact
answer.

Now It’s your Turn!

Simplify the following Problem:

-
1. (3x-4)(5x-2) 3. (7x+1)(x-3) 1. 15x^2-8x+8 3. 7x^2-20x-3
2. (4x+2)(x^2-5) 4. (3x+3)(2x+1) 2. 4x^3+2x^2-20x-10 4. 6x^2+9x+3
5.(8x-3)(x+1) 5.8x^2+5x-3

Answer Key
1. 15x^2-8x+8 3. 7x^2-20x-3
2. 4x^3+2x^2-20x-10 4. 6x^2+9x+3
5.8x^2+5x-3
G. Discussing new concept & Now let’s try to solve some complex problem like binomial with the
H. Developing Mastery exponent (e.g (x+y)^n), combining the binomial with trinomial (e.g
(a+b)(c+d-e)). Example:

(4x+5)^2 You should know that this is equivalent to (4x+5)(4x+5)

then you can proceed in F.O.I.L Method and you will get 16x^2 + 20x
+20x + 25 when we combine like terms you will get 16x^2 + 40x + 25.

(2x-3)(x^2+2x-3) we all know that when we combine 2 binomials we

get a 4 term before we combine like term. Now we are combining
binomial and trinomial, so 2 times 3 is 6 so we are having a 6 term
before combining like term. When you do a Foil Method to this
problem you will have 2x^3 + 4x^2 - 6x - 3x^2 - 6x + 9 and when you
combine like terms you’ll have 2x^3 + x^2 - 12x + 9.
