Services Status

The status is indicated by three different colors:

• Green means that the service is running and operating normal.
• Yellow: indicates that the services has been started but is currently
not in use (e.g. for CDR, Continous Tracing and Redundany).
• Red: is used if the service is not running. This is not mandatory an
error. If a service has not been started or configured, e.g. the DHCP
server, it will appear as „not running“.

Alarm Management

The table provides the following informations:

• GroupID and EventId correspond to the SNMP trap OID (the last 2 numbers
of the OID). An alarm trap is cleared by a trap with the same OID of severity
'cleared'.
• The GroupName is the name of the GroupID. It groups together system status
information of similar kind.
• EventName is a character string that describers the alarm. It is closely related
to the trap name as defined in the OpenScape SBC SNMP MIB.
• Active determines if the alarm will be generated or not.
• Threshold is the value that needs to be crossed by monitored-value for an
alarm to be generated. If e.g. if the existence of an alarm condition is repre-
sented by True =1 then the threshold should be 0 to trigger an alarm.

20
7-
• Trigger shows the condition where the alarm will be generated. Trigger is a

-0
comparison with alarm value.

20
o_
• Severity is the alarm severity assigned to that particular alarm (warning, mi-

ol
nor, major, critical). The Severity is fixed per Fault-Id. ic
en
• Flow Timer indicates the minimal time to wait before to generate a next oc-
_G

currence of the same alarm.

do

• ReportingClass is a number between 0 and 7 that groups events to classes that

an
rn

are reported to the same trap destination. 0 means that the event is not re-
Fe

ported via SNMP trap.

._
_L

• Faulty Object is a character string that defines the object that is at fault. This
EN

value may be different from branch to branch, but it is fixed for a particular
00

branch.
EN

• Event Type classifies the alarms into:

40

To add a receiver click on „SNMP Configuration“ under „SNMP“ at the „Alarms“ tab. Click on

The entire SBC configuration (DB) is stored in a XML file. Every time when a configuration
change will be saved (by clicking „Apply Changes“), a new configuration file is created and the
old configuration is saved. The configuration files can be managed in the „Maintenance“
menu under „Import/Export“:

The configuration file can later be imported either manual in a fresh installed SBC to restore
00

this configuration or be used together with the usbstick setup tool to reinstall the device with
EN

the same configuration e.g. for a hardware swap or migration to a virtual system as described

earlier in the installation module.

Import (Restore)

5.2 Import (Restore)

To import / restore a configuration on the SBC there are two possible options:
If the last configuration change should be restored, the previous configuration file can be se-
lected from the drop-down list and activated with „Load“ (e.g. current configuration used is „6“
and previous was therefore „5“):
