Class Intervals - Histograms
Class Intervals - Histograms
When we work with continuous variables, they cannot be taken as isolated variable values, but must be
grouped into class intervals.
Example:
For a certain game, participants must be grouped according to height. The minimum height of a group of 30
participants is 1.46 m and the maximum is 1.76 m
Cumulative

=1,485 for each interval
The mean ( 𝑥 ) or average is the sum of the products of the mean value of each interval and its frequency,
divided by the total number of observations.
The modal interval is the interval with the highest frequency, that is, 1,66 ≤ ℎ < 1,71
It can be said that the mode is the average value of the modal interval, that is, 1.685 cm
The interval that contains the median is the one whose cumulative frequency is half of the observations.
Places 15 and 16 correspond to the average values and are in the interval 1,66 ≤ ℎ < 1,71
It can be said that the median is the average value of the interval that contains it, that is, it is close to 1,685
cm

40 ≤ 𝐴 < 48 40
48 ≤ 𝐴 < 56 64
56 ≤ 𝐴≤ 64 16
2- The following data corresponds to the number of correct answers per person in a test.
