OBE SYLLABUS IN PHYSICS FOR ENGINEERS

A. VISION : CNSC as a premier Higher Education Institution in the Bicol Region.

B. MISSION : The Camarines Norte State College shall provide higher and advanced studies in the fields of education, arts
and sciences, economics, health, engineering, management, finance, accounting, business and public
administration, fisheries, agriculture, natural resources development and management and ladderized courses.
It shall also respond to research, extension and production services adherent to progressive leadership towards
sustainable development.

C. QUALITY POLICY AND ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY : We, at Camarines Norte State College, aiming to become a Premier Higher Education
Institution in the Bicol Region, are committed with utmost care of the environment in providing
excellent services in instruction, research, extension and production that are responsive to the
satisfaction of our students and other stakeholders.
To achieve these, we shall implement an internationally recognized integrated management
system in our operations, processes and services and shall:
 comply with applicable statutory and regulatory requirements, the mandates of the
College and relevant needs and expectations of our students and other stakeholders,
and the requisites of our quality and environment management system;
 delight our students and other stakeholders by providing value-adding experiences to
become well-rounded and more competitive future leaders in the midst of global
issues;
 protect the environment and prevent pollution by optimizing the use of electricity,
paper, water and other resources and adopt the safe and responsible methods of
reduction, reuse, recycling and proper disposal of wastes;

Electricity and Magnetism; Optics; Image Formation by Plane and Curved Mirrors; and Image Formation by Thin
Lenses.

N. PROGRAM INTENDED LEARNING OUTCOMES : For Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, the following set of objectives describes what the
students are expected by the time of graduation:
a. An ability to apply knowledge of mathematics, physical science, engineering science to the
practice of civil engineering;
b. An ability to design and conduct experiments, as well as to analyze and interpret data;
c. An ability to design, build, improve and install systems or processes which meet desired
needs within realistic constraints.
d. An ability to work effectively in multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural teams;
e. An ability to formulate and solve civil engineering problems
f. An understanding to the effects and impact of civil engineering projects on the nature of
society, and of the civil engineer’s social and ethical responsibilities;
g. Specialized engineering knowledge in each applicable field, and the ability to apply such
knowledge to provide solutions to actual problems;
h. An ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing using the English language;
i. An ability to engage in life-long learning and an acceptance of the need to keep current of the
development in the specific field of specialization.
j. An ability to use the appropriate techniques, skills and modern engineering tools necessary
for the practice of civil engineering.

Q. COURSE POLICIES :
A. Flexible Learning : Modifications in the curriculum and instruction shall reflect flexible learning strategies that complement the outcomes-
Strategies based education approach. Use of web-based educational materials and other available resources and opportunities for
interaction, then combining them with traditional means of learning and assessment shall be observed. For monitoring
purpose, the CNSC LMS shall be the primary course management system, but without prejudice on the use of faculty of
other learning platforms and applications like Google Classroom/Meet and Facebook/Messenger.

B. On Attendance : In virtual sessions, attendance is not mandatory, but your absence should be complemented by information/notification
why you cannot attend the synchronous session. On asynchronous sessions, the submission of outputs is equivalent to
your attendance.

B. Standards of Behaviour

3. Stay in a place where no background noise interferes when you speak.
4. If you want to speak, say “Mam/Sir, Mr./Ms. and Your Surname, may I please answer?”
5. Look into the camera while talking.
6. Use respectful language. Spoken and written communication should show the highest standards of professional
dialogue.
7. Share expert knowledge.
8. Be forgiving of other people’s mistakes.
9. Respect your teacher’s/classmates’ time and bandwidth.
10. Pay Attention. Do not leave/go somewhere during your online class

grading system shall be adopted. The Final Grade (FG) during the current rating period is equal to one-third of the final
