# SCIENCE

Physics: Light Reflection & Refraction

Key Concepts:
- **Laws of Reflection:**
1. The incident ray, the reflected ray, and the normal lie on the same plane.

2. The angle of incidence = angle of reflection.

- **Types of Mirrors:**
- Plane Mirror: Forms virtual, upright, and same-size images.
- Concave Mirror: Can form real/inverted or virtual/upright images.
- Convex Mirror: Forms only virtual, upright, and diminished images.

- **Refraction:** Bending of light when it passes from one medium to another.

- **Refractive Index:** Ratio of the speed of light in vacuum to its speed in the medium.

- **Lens Formula:** 1/f = 1/v - 1/u (Convex & Concave Lenses).

- **Mirror Formula:** 1/f = 1/v + 1/u (Concave & Convex Mirrors).

# Important Questions:
1. State the laws of reflection.
2. Differentiate between real and virtual images.
3. What is the refractive index? How does it affect the speed of light?
4. Draw ray diagrams for image formation by concave and convex mirrors.
5. Derive the mirror formula and lens formula.

- Blood: RBCs, WBCs, Platelets, Plasma
- Blood Vessels: Arteries, Veins, Capillaries

- **Double Circulation:** Oxygenated and deoxygenated blood flows separately.

- **Heart Functioning:** Valves prevent backflow of blood.

- **Lymphatic System:** Helps in immunity and fluid balance.

### Important Questions:

1. Explain the process of digestion in humans.
2. Differentiate between aerobic and anaerobic respiration.
3. Explain the double circulation of blood in humans.
4. How do arteries and veins differ?
5. Describe the structure and function of the heart.
6. What is the function of the lymphatic system?
7. How does blood transport nutrients and oxygen?

# MATHS
# Chapters 1, 2 & 3 (Key Formulas & Concepts)
### Chapter 1: Real Numbers
- Euclid’s Division Lemma: a = bq + r (0 ≤ r < b)

- Fundamental Theorem of Arithmetic: Every

composite number can be expressed as a product of primes.

- HCF & LCM relation: HCF × LCM = Product of two numbers.

## Chapter 2: Polynomials
- Zeroes of a polynomial: Values of x for which f(x) = 0.
- Relationship between coefficients and zeroes:

- Quadratic: ax² + bx + c → α + β = -b/a, αβ = c/a

- Cubic: α + β + γ = -b/a, αβ + βγ + γα = c/a, αβγ = -d/a

### Chapter 3: Linear Equations in Two Variables

- General form: ax + by + c = 0
- Methods to solve:
- Graphical method
- Substitution method
- Elimination method
- Cross-multiplication method

### Important Questions:

1. Find the HCF and LCM of 144 and 180 using the prime factorization method.
2. Solve for x and y: 2x + 3y = 12, x - 2y = 4.
3. Find the zeroes of x² - 5x + 6 and verify the relationship.
4. Solve using the cross-multiplication method: 3x - 2y = 4, 2x + y = 5.
5. Prove that √2 is an irrational number.
