SAP Note

1491848 - What IGS should I be using with my Web AS?


Component: BC-FES-IGS (Basis Components > Frontend Services (SAP Note 1322184) > Internet Graphics
Server), Version: 25, Released On: 20.02.2024

Symptom

You require the IGS version that you should be using with your SAP NW application server.

Reason and Prerequisites

You are going to install a patch for your SAP IGS or for the first time, you need the
version to use with your Web AS.

Important! As of the 02.02.2011 Maintenance Optimizer, the SP Stack Application in SAP


Service Marketplace and possibly other places are not showing the correct version of IGS for
products with a 7.10 kernel (and lower). For example, SAP IGS 7.20_EXT shows up for the SAP
kernel 7.10 based products. This information is not correct. To correct the issue with SAP
service marketplace, please refer to note 1671265 for solution. The correct IGS and SAP
kernel compatibility information is indicated below and should be adhered to ensure proper
function.

Solution

The IGS you need to use is shown below

# If your SAP NW Application Server is using the SAP 7.2*_EXT Kernel:

Then you need to install the IGS 720_EXT.


# If your SAP NW Application Server is using the SAP 7.22_EX2 Kernel:

Then you need to install the IGS 720_EX2.


# If your SAP NW Application Server is using the SAP 7.22_EX3 Kernel:

Then you need to install the IGS 754.


# If your SAP NW Application Server is using the SAP 7.53 or 7.77 Kernel:
Then you need to install the IGS 753.
# If your SAP NW Application Server is using the SAP 7.54 Kernel:
Then you need to install the IGS 754.
# If your SAP Application Server is using the SAP 7.81-7.93 Kernel:
Then you need to install the IGS 781.

The following information is applicable for SAP Kernel versions which are out-of-
maintenance:
# If your SAP NW Application Server is using the SAP 7.* Kernel

Then you need to install the IGS 720. Available under archive downloads.
# If your SAP NW Application Server is using the SAP 7.4*-7.42 Kernel:
Then you need to install the IGS 720_EXT.
# If your SAP NW Application Server is using the SAP 7.45-7.49 Kernel:
Then you need to install the IGS 753.
