Subject: Removal of Defective Items from Vidatha Resource Center, Thalawa

1. Introduction
This report outlines the findings and recommendations for the removal of defective and outdated items
from the Divisional Secretariat Office, Thalawa. The items in question have been in use for over 12 years
and are either non-functional or no longer suitable for efficient office operations. Red Eye Technologies
(Pvt) Ltd was tasked with assessing the condition of these items and providing a technical
recommendation for their disposal or replacement.

2. Items Assessed
The following items were identified as defective or outdated:

4 Computer Monitors: Outdated technology, poor display quality, and some are non-functional.

4 Computers: Obsolete hardware, slow processing speeds, and frequent malfunctions.

6 Keyboards: Worn-out keys, unresponsive, and some are physically damaged.

Epson LQ 300 Dot-Matrix Printer: Outdated technology, frequent paper jams, and high maintenance
costs.

4 Mice: Non-functional or unresponsive.

2 Pen Drives: Low storage capacity and unreliable performance.

2 UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supplies): Batteries are dead, and units are no longer functional.

3. Assessment Findings
Age of Items: All items have been in use for over 12 years, exceeding their expected lifespan.

Functionality: Most items are either non-functional or operate inefficiently, hindering productivity.

Maintenance Costs: Repairing these items is not cost-effective due to their age and the unavailability of
spare parts.

Technological Obsolescence: The items are outdated and do not meet current technological standards.

4. Recommendations
Based on the assessment, Red Eye Technologies (Pvt) Ltd recommends the following:

Disposal of Defective Items:

All listed items should be removed from the office premises and disposed of in an environmentally
friendly manner.

A certified e-waste disposal company should be engaged to ensure proper recycling and disposal.

Replacement with Modern Equipment:

maintenance costs.

Replace the non-functional UPS units with new models to ensure uninterrupted power supply.

Data Security:

Ensure all data stored on the computers and pen drives is securely erased or transferred before disposal.

Budget Allocation:

Allocate a budget for the procurement of new equipment to ensure smooth office operations.

5. Conclusion
The defective and outdated items at the Divisional Secretariat Office, Thalawa, are no longer suitable for
