Title: Designing a Project-Based Learning Detailed Lesson Plan

I. Introduction:

Project-Based Learning (PBL) is a student-centered teaching approach that

engages learners in real-world challenges, fostering collaboration, inquiry,
and problem-solving skills. This activity will guide you in designing a
Detailed Lesson Plan (DLP) incorporating PBL to enhance student
engagement and learning outcomes.

II. Objectives:

By completing this activity, you will:

✅ Develop a Detailed Lesson Plan (DLP) using Project-Based

Learning (PBL) principles.
✅ Design a driving question that connects the lesson to real-world
applications.
✅ Create student-centered activities that promote inquiry,
collaboration, and creativity.
✅ Plan for assessment strategies that measure student learning
effectively.

III. Directions:

1. Select a Lesson Topic relevant to your subject area and grade

level.

2. Create a Detailed Lesson Plan (DLP) following PBL principles,

including a real-world problem, inquiry-based learning, and a public
product.

3. Complete the Project-Based Learning Plan Worksheet to

outline your lesson design.

4. Submit the Final DLP and Worksheet after peer review and
revision.
Project-Based Learning (PjBL) Worksheet

 PART 1: PROJECT OVERVIEW

📌 Project Title:

Planting Trees: Protecting Our Future

📌 Grade Level & Subject Area:

Grade 6, Technology and Livelihood Education (TLE)

📌 Lesson Topic:

The Importance of Planting Trees

📌 Time Allotment:

5 hours (over one week)

📌 Driving Question:

How can planting trees help protect the environment and improve
our community?

📌 Project Summary:

Students will learn about the importance of planting trees and how
it benefits the environment and the community. They will understand how
trees provide fresh air, prevent floods, and serve as resources for
everyday needs. As part of the project, students will participate in a tree-
planting activity and create simple posters to encourage others to plant
and care for trees. This activity will help students practice basic skills
while promoting environmental care and responsibility.

 PART 2: PROJECT DESIGN

 Entry Event (Engagement / Hook Activity):

I will begin with an engaging short video or story about how trees
benefit the environment and communities. Follow it with a thought-
provoking question like, "What would happen if there were no trees
around us?"

 Inquiry & Research Phase:

The students will research the importance of trees through books,

online articles, or discussions with local environmentalists or tree-planting
organizations. They will investigate how trees clean the air, prevent
floods, and provide resources.

 Collaboration & Group Work:

I will divide the students into small groups. Each group will focus on
one specific benefit of trees (e.g., environmental, social, economic) and
present their findings. Assign roles like researcher, presenter, and
organizer within each group.

 Student Project & Public Product:

The students will create posters or simple infographics showcasing

the importance of planting trees. They will also plant trees in a designated
area as a practical activity. Their work will be presented during a mini-
environmental fair in school, inviting parents and the community to
attend.

 Assessment & Feedback Mechanism:

1. Rubric-Based Assessment

2. Peer Feedback

3. Teacher Evaluation

4. Presentation/Demonstration

 PART 3: PROJECT IMPLEMENTATION PLAN

📌 Lesson Objectives:

✅ Understand the importance of planting trees for the environment and

community.

✅ Learn practical tree-planting skills and proper care for plants.

✅ Promote environmental awareness and responsibility through teamwork

and community involvement.

📌 Lesson Procedures (Aligned with PBL Approach):
