USER MANUAL

This guide provides step-by-step instructions, FAQs and troubleshooting tips to help you successfully
complete your assessments. Refer to the Table of Contents below to quickly find the information you

Pre-requisites Before Taking the Assessment


System Readiness

• Ensure your laptop/desktop is fully charged or connected to a power source.


• Verify a stable and high-speed internet connection (minimum 4 MBPS upload and download).
• Use the latest version of Google Chrome for the assessment.

Environment Setup
• Screen Sharing: Ensure screen-sharing permissions are enabled (especially for Mac users).

• Notifications: Turn off all device notifications during the test taking process.

Application and Tools


• NeoExam Shield: Install the NeoExam Shield extension and disable all other browser extensions.
• Full-Screen Mode: Keep the test in full-screen mode; exiting repeatedly will close the test.
• Tab Switches: Clicking outside the test will be considered a tab switch. Repeated tab switches will
result in the closure of the test.
• Lock Section: Complete the first section before proceeding to the next. Once navigated to
another section, you cannot return to the previous one.
• Pause on Internet Failure: If a network issue occurs, the test will automatically pause. You
can resume once a stable connection is restored.

How to Log In

Step 1 : Open Google Chrome and go to https://neopat.examly.io/login

Step 2 : Enter your registered email address in the email box and click Next.
Step 3 : Enter your default password (all characters before the “@” in your email ID) and click Login.

How to take Test


• You can find the "Assessment" icon in the left side navigation bar. By clicking on it, you can view the
courses that you're enrolled in

• To start a course, click on the desired course where each course has modules that can be expanded
or minimized by on the arrows.

Example

• "Assessment" is a module, and "Aptitude Assessment" is the name of a test.


• Click on your desired test, either "Aptitude Assessment" or "Technical Assessment", then select
"Take Test" to begin the assessment.

Installing NeoExam Shield


• A pop-up will prompt you to install the NeoExam Shield extension.

• Click “Ok” to be redirected to the extension page and Click “Add to Chrome” to install the
extension.
• Go to the Manage Extensions page chrome://extensions/ and:
• Disable all other extensions.
• Enable only the NeoExam Shield extension.

Terms and Instructions

• Once extensions are enabled, you will proceed to the “Terms and Instructions” page.
• Read the instructions and click “ Agree and Proceed” .
Access Key

• If prompted to enter the access key for the test, simply input the access key followed by your
password.

Example:
If the access key is "2320" and the password is "demo”, entering these credentials as ”2320demo” and
clicking "Verify" will redirect you to the test page.
System and Environment Checks
• Network Speed: The system will verify a minimum of 4 MBPS upload and download speeds.

• Screen Sharing: Share your entire screen to proceed into the assessment

Note : If you are using mac device, please refer to the link for sharing the screen
• Click Continue Test to proceed into the assessment.

• You will need to wait for 25 seconds before entering the assessment. Please click hide option before
entering the assessment.

• After the timer ends, you will be directed into the assessment, where an Instructions pop-up will ap-
pear.
• In the top right corner, you can find the "Test Timer" just before the "Submit Test" button. It will work
in reverse, counting down to notify you when the test is about to end.

For MCQ Assessments


• The questions will be displayed on the left side, with the answer options on the right side.
• Select the correct answer option and click Next to navigate to the next question.
• The number of sections in the test will be visible in the top-left corner of the screen. You can click on the
section name to move between sections.

• To move to the next question, simply click on the "Next" button.


• If you want to unselect the answer, click “Clear” button.
• Additionally, you can view the marks allocated for each question through "Marks", which indicates
the points awarded for correct answers, as well as "Negative Marks", which represent deductions
for incorrect answers.
• In the left corner, you can see numbers 1 to 10, representing the MCQs in that section.
• You can navigate to a specific question by clicking on its corresponding number instead of using the
"Next" button. Various colours indicate different states of the questions:
o "Green" indicates that the question has been visited, and an answer has been marked.
o "Red” indicates that the question has been visited but no answer has been marked.
o "Yellow” indicates that the question has been bookmarked by clicking on the "Bookmark"
symbol.
o "Uncoloured" indicates that the question has not been visited yet.
• Additionally, you can view the count of questions for each indication just below the list of numbers.
• Once you complete the section, please click on ‘Submit Section’ and proceed to the next section.
Please note that once you navigate to the next section, you cannot return to the previous section.
For Coding Questions
• The problem statement will appear on the left side, while the code editor will be on the right side for
writing and executing code.

• You can select the programming language from the dropdown menu at the top-right corner of the
code editor.

• The Compile and Run and Submit Code buttons will be available at the bottom of the screen.
✓ Compile and Run: This option checks for errors in your code. If errors are found, a compilation
error message will appear. If there are no errors, the sample test case status will be displayed.
✓ Submit Code: Click this button to evaluate the hidden test cases and receive marks. After
submitting, the results will display the number of test cases passed or failed. Ensure you submit
the code for every question to secure marks. Marks will be allotted only if you click “Submit
Code”.
• To end the assessment, click on Submit Test in the top-right corner. Type END in the provided
space and confirm the submission.
FAQs Related to NeoExam Shield

1. What should I do if the NeoExam Shield extension is not installing?


• Ensure you are using Google Chrome.
• Check your internet connection for stability.
• Make sure your Chrome browser is updated to the latest version.

2. Why do I see a pop-up saying, "Enable NeoExam Shield to proceed"?


• This message appears if the NeoExam Shield extension is not enabled.
• Go to Chrome’s web store page and ensure NeoExam Shield is added to the chrome browser.

3. Why do I keep getting redirected to the Manage Extensions page even though I’ve enabled only
the Neo- Exam Shield extension?
• The system may not be able to detect the extension on your browser.
• If you have antivirus software installed, disable it temporarily, restart your system, and
reinstall the browser before trying again.

4. What happens if I enable other browser extensions during the test?


• Enabling other extensions may interfere with the test and result in the session being
terminated.
• Only NeoExam Shield should be active.

5. I accidentally removed NeoExam Shield during the test. Can I re-install it?
• Close the test tab. Reinstall the extension from the Chrome Web Store.
• Reopen the test and start again after ensuring NeoExam Shield is enabled.

6. Does NeoExam Shield work on all operating systems?


• NeoExam Shield is supported on Windows, Mac, and Linux systems using Google Chrome.
• Ensure the browser permissions for extensions are enabled.

7. Can NeoExam Shield work with other browsers like Firefox or Edge?
• No, NeoExam Shield is compatible only with Google Chrome. Switch to Chrome for the test.

8. Can I use NeoExam Shield on a mobile device?


• No, NeoExam Shield is designed for desktop and laptop devices only.
General FAQs

1. What happens if my internet disconnects during the assessment?


• The system will attempt to reconnect automatically.
• If the disconnection lasts for more than 60 seconds, you will be moved out of the assessment.
• Ensure you have a stable internet connection before resuming the assessment.

2. What should I do if the timer runs out before I submit my test?


• The test will be auto-submitted once the time limit is reached.
• Make sure to complete all questions within the allotted time.

3. Can I use multiple tabs or switch to other applications during the assessment?
• No, switching to other tabs or applications is prohibited and may result in auto-submission of the
test.

4. How do I know if my test submission was successful?


• Once the test is submitted, you will see a confirmation message stating "Test Completed."

5. Why does the system automatically submit my test?


• Auto-submission occurs if the timer runs out or if unauthorized activities are detected, such as
switching tabs or disabling required tools.

6. How do I submit the test if I finish early?


• Click the Submit Test button at the top-right corner of the screen.
• Follow the prompts (e.g., type "END") to confirm submission.

7. Can I go back to a previous section after moving to the next one?


• No, once you navigate to the next section, you cannot return to the previous section.
