1- What did Peggotty decide to do after Mr. Brkies died?
 She decided to move to London and live with David.

2- When did she arrive in London? And what did David do to make her feel better?
 She arrived on a Sunday evening. David made his best to make her feel better and he
made sure that she was nice and comfortable in her small clean room.

3- How was Peggotty feeling on arriving in London?


 She was still very sad about her husband’s death.

4- How were David’s feelings towards Dora?


He was in deep love with her. She was his little angle, his sweet heart and everything for
 him. She was able to make him happy and content with one small smile. He was trying to
find a way to convince her to love him back.

5- What was Peggotty’s point of view about the relation between Dora and David?
 She thought that Dora and her father (Mr. Spenlow) should be happy to have David in
their family as Dora’s husband.

6- What was David’s opinion about Peggottyy’s thoughts of the situation of Dora and David?
 He didn’t share her hopeful view of the situation between him and Dora.

7- What was the wonderful thing happened according to David’s opinion?


 Mr. Spenlow invited David to a picnic to celebrate Dora’s birthday party after a week.
David was so happy that he went completely mad and he couldn’t think clearly at all.

 He bought expensive clothes and boots. He hired a handsome white horse. On the day of
the picnic he got up at 6 in the morning and went to Covent Garden market to buy the
freshest and the most beautiful flowers for Dora. And by 10 o’clock he rode his horse
twards twards Mr. Spenlow’s house.

9- How did David feel when he arrived at Mr. Spenlow house and met Dora?
 He was so happy that he thought, he would die of happiness when he saw Dora in her sky-
blue dress and white hat and when she accepted his flowers with delight.

10- Describe Miss Julia Mills.


 She was Dora’s friend. She was pretty young lady, she was 20 years old and she was very
calm and wise. She also had an unpleasant experience in love and she decided not to be
involved in matters of heart again.

11- What made David feel disappointed on arriving to the gusts’ house?
 He arrived at the gusts’ house to find all the gusts had been invited, he felt jealous even of
the ladies because they talked to Dora and took her away from him. He hated all the mes
as soon as he saw them.

12- Who was the worst David’s enemy?


This was a man with a red moustache who pretended that he knew everything about

preparing food and soon he had Dora and the youngest ladies around him.

13- What was David’s horror when he started eating?


 He saw the Red Mustache Man sitting next to Dora holding a huge plate full of chicken.

14- What did David do when he saw the Red Mustache Man sitting next to Dora?
 He couldn’t think clearly but he pretended to be cheerful and began to talk amusingly to
the lady in pink next to him, looking after her and bringing her whatever she needed.

15- What did David decided to do after the meal?


 He walked alone in the wood after the lady in pink’s mom took her, he was angry,
desperate and decided to ride away his horse although he didn’t know where to go.

16- Who came to meet him in the wood? What advice did Miss Mills give to David and Dora?
 Miss Mills and Dora came to meet David. She advised them to confess their love to each
other and live happily.

17- How did David react for Miss Mills’ advice?


 He kissed both Dora and Miss Mills’ hands, feeling so hot, excited, happy and life seemed
wonderful again.

18- What did the gusts demand Dora to do?


 They asked Dora to sing a song, the Red Mustache offered to get Dora’s guitar but she
insisted that David the only to know where the guitar was. And then David went to fetch
the guitar from the carriage.

19- What suggestion did Miss Mills make after Dora’s birthday party finished?
 After the gusts had gone, it was time to return to Mr. Spenlow’s house, Miss Mills offered
David to come to her house in London to visit Dora the day after tomorrow as Dora would
stay for a while with Miss Mills.

20- What did David ask Dora about when he visited her at Miss Mills’ house?
 After two days David dressed his finest clothes and went to Miss Mills’ house. Miss Mills
was learning a song and Dora was painting. Miss Mills made an excuse to leave David with
Dora. David asked her if she loved him.

21- How was David’s visit to Dora at Miss Mills’ house ended?
 The visit ended by Dora and David had engaged. They decided to get married and to keep
their engagement secret from Mr. Spenlow. Miss Mills was delighted with this news and
promised to help them as possible as she could.

 He wrote a letter to Agnes telling her everything about Dora and their engagement he
wanted to share his happiness with her and asked for her approval because she was his
adopted sister.

23- What news did Tommy Traddles tell David when he visited David in his flat in London?
 He told him about Mr. Micawber who had to change his name to Mr. Mortimer and only
got out of his house after dark wearing glasses to avoid meeting his creditors who
demanded the payment of his debts. He also told David that Mr. Micawber didn’t pay his
debt to him.

 Miss Betsy Trotwood and Mr. Dick.

 Bec. She lost all her money so she came with Mr. Dick to live with David to save money.
She asked David to find a bed for Mr. Dick, so David took him to a neighbour’s to rent
him a room. David let his aunt to sleep in his room and he slept in the sitting room.

26- How did Peggotty try to help Mrs. Trotwood?


 She offered to give Mrs. Trotwood some money of the money she inherited from her
husband Mr. Barkis but Mrs. Trotwood refused at once. She also told her about the
trouble at Yarmouth (Emily’s problem).

27- What was Mrs. Trotwood’s opinion about the love relation between David and Dora?
 She considered Dora was silly and David was blind of his love to Dora. She believed that
David needed a good, serious and sensible person to love. David wasn’t comfortable with
that opinion, but he was glad because he told his aunt his secret.

28- How was David’s feeling about his aunt’s point of view in Dora?
 He was very miserable, uncomfortable and upset that he slept on the sofa thinking of his
aunt’s situation and Dora. How he could marry her if he had no money, no expensive
clothes, no white horse or no flowers to give her.

29- Who did David meet the next day after his aunt come to live with him?
 He met Agnes Wickfield when he went out early the next morning to have a walk in the
fresh air. A carriage stopped beside him and Agnes Wickfield got out. David felt better on
seeing her.

30- Why did Agnes come to London?


 She had heard about Mrs. Trotwood’s troubles so she came to see her.

31- What did Agnes complain from when she met David in London?
 She complained that Uriah Heep became her father’s partner and he had too great
influence over her father and her father was much worse, he looked much older and Uriah
encouraged him to drink so he drank more than ever. Uriah and his mother were living
with them and she couldn’t always protect her father from whatever Uriah was planning.

32- Why couldn’t David give Agnes his opinion in Uriah?


 Bec. They had just arrived at his flat, his aunt was pleased to see Agnes and she made
them sit next to Peggotty on the sofa and she began to tell them what happened to her
money.

33- How did Mrs. Betsy Trotwood lose her money?


 She saved a lot of money over years and her lawyer Mr. Wickfield helped her to invest her
money in right company but recently she thought he wasn’t a good lawyer as he used to be
so she decided to invest her money herself in gold and foreign bank and so on but she lost
all her money.

34- What advice did Agnes give to Mrs. Betsy and David about their financial situation?
 She advised them to share that flat very cheaply with Mr. Dick just round the corner of his
rented room. And she helped David to find a job as a privet secretary at Dr. Strong the
headmaster of the Canterbury School after he retired in London. He needed a secretary to
work for him in the mornings and in the evenings. David could also work in the office of
Mr. Spenlow at the same time.
