1. Interface organization

1.1. General data tab

The first tab is « General Data » tab and it is used to manage:

- Models
- Materials
- Beam properties
- Hole properties
- Yielding criteria

Materials, Beam properties and Hole Properties are also called the Project Library and all its data is common to all
the models.

General Data

1st tab: list of models:

here you have 3 models

1.2. Model viewer tab

The model viewer is composed of five panels (hidden by default) and one toolbar, as shown below:

Toolbar : all buttons to

control the 3D display

3 panels:
• Model check
• Model Filter Entity info panel
• Analyses Manager

Data table panel

On the left, there are 3 panels:

- model check panel with color mode check, data tables check, Global model check, solver log
- model filter panel with beam properties filter and partition filter
- Analyses manager panel where to create load cases, boundary cases, overall stress cases and analyses

Below the model, there is the data table panel.

And on the right, there is entity info panel which display all characteristics on the selected beam or node.

1.3. Data in tables: Materials table example

All data is listed in tables, every table having a dedicated toolbar to create new lines, delete selected line …

Data table toolbar:

All tables work with the same manner

Buttons in the toolbar are almost the same in every table.

Here below is an example of the material toolbar:

Renumber
Create
Filter data table by :
all / used / Unused

Delete
Move Up
Merge Clean: delete unused data

Note: all buttons description is available in the Tools and buttons gallery document.

2.3. Why use Assembly beam property instead of H standard

profile
There are 3 ways to create an H cross section beam property:

- H standard profile
- An assembly with a T standard profile and a bottom plating
- An assembly with a Flat standard profile and 2 platings.

Why to use an assembly ? because then you have more possibilities :

- Use the “continuous associated plating” feature to solve the calculation.

- Use the “automatic loaded with” tool which is based on bottom plating width.

- Use the color mode “properties grouped by plating” to color the model based on 1 plating, 2 platings or
without any plating like the following picture. It is a good way to check your model.
