DISEASE PREDICTION USING SYMPTOMS BASED ON MACHINE
LEARNING ALGORITHMS

ABSTRACT
This paper presents Disease Prediction using
Symptoms based on Machine Learning Algorithms, a machine learning-driven
system for symptom-based disease prediction and personalized healthcare
recommendations. The system features a dynamic drop-down interface that
enables users to input symptoms either by searching or selecting from
predefined options, ensuring ease of use and accessibility. To achieve accurate
multi-class disease classification, multiple machine learning algorithms—
including Decision Tree, Random Forest, Naive Bayes, Support Vector Machine
(SVM), K-Nearest Neighbors (KNN), and Logistic Regression are employed. The
models are trained on structured symptom-disease datasets, and their
performance is systematically evaluated using metrics such as accuracy,
precision, recall and F1-score to identify the most suitable algorithm for
symptom-based diagnosis. Beyond disease prediction, the system integrates
intelligent health advisory features, offering customized health suggestions
based on predicted outcomes to promote preventive care and early
intervention. A comparative analysis of the machine learning models
demonstrates their predictive accuracy and practical applicability in real-time
health advisory systems. The proposed approach aims to bridge the gap
between symptom assessment and timely medical consultation, contributing to
advancements in AI-driven healthcare solutions.
