a list of instructions ( program )
Computer

• Computer is any device which aids human in performing

various kinds of computations or calculations.
Computer

• Computer is an electronic device which helps us to store

and process our data or instructions at high speed with
100 % accuracy.
Computer

• It can perform basic operations like arithmetical and logical ( i.e.

addition, subtraction, multiplication , comparison etc.) and
produce result according to the given instruction in a desirable
form.
Computer

• A wide range of problems can be solved with then help of

computer. The problems may be related to the business ,
education , medical, banking , industry , development ,
communications , etc.
Computer
• Is an electronic device , operating under the control of
instructions stored in its own memory, that can accept data,
manipulate the data according to the specified rules,
produce results for future use.
• However, as technology evolves, so do machines.
• Computers today are no longer the same computers your
parents must first used.
Components of Computer

What makes a computer work? By definition, computer is an

electronic device that manipulates information or data. It has
the ability to store, retrieve, and process data. It contains both
hardware and software applications.
Hardware
• Pertains to the computer’s physical
devices. It is any part of the computer that
can be seen and touched . A computer’s
hardware consist of interrelated electronic
devices that are used to manipulate the
computer’s operation, input devices and
output devices.
INPUT DEVICES
- Enter or send data OUTPUT DEVICES
instructions from - Send back the
the user or from administered data
another computer to the user or to
system. another computer
- Controlled by the system.
user . - Controlled by the
computer.
Input Devices
- An input devices that allows users to input
information into a computer.
- controlled by the user

-Enter or send data instructions from the

user or from another computer system on
the internet.
INPUT DEVICES
Mouse

• A mouse's function is
to move a cursor on a
computer screen and
select items or actions.
It's a key part of a
computer's graphical
user interface (GUI).
Trackball

• Trackballs are used as input

devices for computers and
other devices to control a
cursor. They are often used in
situations where a mouse
might not be ideal, such as in
small spaces or industrial
environments.
Trackpad

• A touchpad or trackpad is a
type of pointing device. Its
largest component is a
tactile sensor: an electronic
device with a flat surface,
that detects the motion and
position of a user's fingers,
and translates them to 2D
motion, to control a pointer
in a graphical user interface
on a computer screen
Microphone

• A microphone's function in
a computer is to convert
sound waves into electrical
signals that the computer
can process. Microphones
are input devices that can
be used for many purposes,
including recording audio,
voice recognition, and video
chat.
Scanner
• A scanner's function is to convert physical
documents, images, or objects into digital files
that can be stored and edited on a computer.
Scanners use light-sensing equipment to
capture images and convert them into data.
Webcam

• A webcam is a digital
camera that sends video
and audio data to a
computer or network.
Webcams are used for
video conferencing, live
streaming, and taking
photos.
Joystick

• A joystick is a hand-held input

device that controls the
movement of objects on a
computer screen. Joysticks are
primarily used for gaming, but
they can also be used for other
tasks.
Light Pen
• A light pen is a computer input device that uses a light-sensitive
wand to select objects on a computer screen. It's similar to a mouse,
but with greater positional accuracy.
Barcode Reader

• A barcode reader is a handheld

input device that collects the
information from the printed
design to decode the data in the
meaningful information in the
system
Output devices
- An output device is a piece of hardware that displays
or produce information from a computer. Output
devices can be visual, audio , or tactile. They allow
users to see, hear , or feel the results of their
computer task.
-Is any hardware component that transmits
information to one or more people.
Printer

A printer's function is to print

text or images onto paper or
other materials. Printers are
usually connected to a
computer, which allows
users to print documents and
images created in word
processors, spreadsheets,
and other programs.
Monitor

A computer monitor is an
output device that displays
information in pictorial or
textual form
Speaker

A computer speaker is a piece of

hardware attached to a computer
system used to produce sound. The
computer's sound card has the signal
used to generate the sound from a
computer speaker.
Headphone

Headphones function as output devices

by receiving electrical audio signals
from a computer or audio source and
converting them into sound waves that
the user can hear. The audio signals are
transmitted through a wired or wireless
connection to the headphones.
Projector

A projector is a device that allows you

to display images, videos, or other
content on a large screen or surface. It
works by projecting light through a lens,
which magnifies and focuses the image
onto the desired surface, creating a
larger representation of the content
being displayed.
System Unit

• A system unit, is neither solely

an input or output device; it is
the main part of a computer that
houses the processing
components including the CPU,
RAM, and motherboard, which
allows it to receive data from
input devices and send
processed data to output
devices , making it central hub
for both input and output
Storage Devices
• Storage is considered neither input nor output;
it refers to the place where data is kept within
a computer system, meaning it holds both the
data that has been inputted and the data that
is ready to be outputted, acting as a repository
for information to be accessed as needed.
SOFTWARE

• Is a set of instructions , data or program used to

operate computers and execute specific task.
• Software is a set of instructions that guides the
computer hardware and tell the hardware what to do,
when to do, and how to do a task. It gives life to the
computer.
• Without software ,computer is dead machine.
1. Adobe
Photoshop

• Adobe Photoshop is a critical tool for

designers, web developers, graphic artists,
