Nation State:
 Nation: A large body of people inhabiting a particular territory, united by common
descent, history, culture, or language.
 State: A state is a politically organized body of people, typically occupying a defined
territory and having sovereignty (the authority to govern itself without external
control).
 Nation – State: A nation-state, a territorially bounded sovereign polity—i.e., a state—
that is ruled in the name of a community of citizens who identify themselves as a
nation. (Eg: Japan and France)

 Nationalism is an ideology based on the premise that an individual's loyalty and
devotion to the nation-state surpass other individual or group interests. It signifies a
