With this activity, you are expected to achieve the following learning
outcomes:

Familiarize with some concepts of Didactics of Mathematics in learning and teaching


contexts.

The activity consists of:

1) Watch the videos. The Importance of Didactics in Mathematics and Pushing the
Need for Interdisciplinary Work:

2) Answering the following six questions on a Word document.

a In what ways can math education be reimagined to better prepare students

c. How can math education be tailored to foster critical thinking, problem-
solving skills, and creativity?
d. Should math education prioritize memorization of formulas and procedures,
or focus more on conceptual understanding and reasoning?

f. How important do you consider interdisciplinarity is and how do you consider
BA in Maths and BA in English can work together to encourage students
learning process?

3) Read the text “Epistemology, Didactics of Mathematics and Teaching Practices”


and design a timeline about the didactics of Mathematics. You can use any digital
tool

In the Initial Information Environment, you must:

Introduce yourself in the course general forum (Social interaction). Your participation
can include: Name, location, class expectations and email and phone number which
are optional.

In the Learning Environment, you must: Explore the course syllabus and print the
agenda. Identify and watch the video related to the initial activity.
Read carefully the activity guide and the evaluation rubric.

In the Evaluation Environment, you must:


Deliver a Word document presenting the answers to the 5 questions and the link to
the recorded video.

2. General Guidelines for the Development of Evidences to Submit

For Individual evidence, consider the following:

to the 5 questions. 3. The link of the timeline.This document must be delivered on
the evaluation environment.

with the spelling rules and presentation conditions defined in this activity guide.
Regarding the use of references, consider that the product of this activity must
comply with APA style.
In any case, make sure you comply with the rules and avoid academic plagiarism.
You can review your written products using the Turnitin tool found in the virtual
campus.
