My attachment was successful whereby I got full support from the company, through the supervisors and
experienced employees. I was assigned to work with in ensuring that I gain full knowledge on the ground.
During the attachment duration I humbly thank dear God for protection and guidance he gave to my
leaders and me during the site exercise and during the intervention times.
I also recognize the support which my parents fully provided for my success both materially and
financially to ensure that I finish the attachment process.
Finally I thank the Busia water and sewage services management highly for allowing me to gain
experience in water knowledge as per my course.

ABSTRACT
Busia Water and Sewage Services Company(ltd)has two abstraction points named;
The lower points use electric pump to pump water up to the treatment plant (treatment works)
The upper point uses hydraulic ram pump that uses water to pump water.
°Structure are safe because the site area has got low current.

1.0 INTRODUCTION.
Busia water and sewerage services company limited (BUWASSCO) was started on April 18 th 2014 under
the company’s Act cap 486 registration number CPR/2014/134836, the aim was to supply enough water
frequently to the residents of Busia and provide high quality sewerage services within the County through
the service provision agreement from lake Victoria north water services board since 2012 through
Kakamega –Busia water supply (KBWS) across County water service provider. Water provision is a
devolved function and therefore Kakamega and Busia Counties devolved to do cluster from (KBWS)
effectively in July 1st 2016 whereby each County decided to establish its own water company.
Busia water and sewerage services company limited had occupied Malaba, Kocholia and Amukura water
schemes since they are located in Busia County though they were served by Nzoia water service company
(NZOWASCO), the serves also Matayos schemes in water supply.

services line and main lines, and unblocking waste blockages and cleaning waste water ponds.

3.7 GENERAL DUTIES
ROLES
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Commercial and finance department – always over-see commercial unit, accounting unit and
procurement unit.
2. Technical department will over-see production, operation and planning of company.
3. Human resource and administration department, will over-see human resources, policies
development, management and recruitments in line with company human resource strategies.
4. Internal audit section – will ensure that internal cheque and balances are adhered to and that the
company confirms to extend regulations that affects its operations
5. The information communication technology (ICT) will always support the automation of the
process and system integration to achieve efficiency and effectiveness.

5.3 Relationship with staff of Busia Water And Sewerage Services Company LTD.
Each and every member of staff gave me a warm welcome when i joined the organization. They were
social to me and any differences arising among ourselves could be solved using the stipulated order.
Each one of them was involved in the respective day to day activities of the organization and this is one
of the main reasons which enhanced the relationship amongst ourselves.
Bearing in mind the saying ," An idle mind ,a devil workshop" ,each staff member was ever busy and
this eradicated the chances of poor relationship. They gave me the due respect i deserved as an attache
and in turn gave them the respect as the organization staffs.

* Constant supervision of students. I recommend the School to carry out constant supervision and
monitoring of students during the internship training so as to enable the them to perform the duties fully
and also accurately. This will also put close link between the academic supervisors and the field
supervisors so as to Foster appropriate assessment of what the interns are doing in the field.
8.0 CONCLUSION.
In conclusion ,i would like to thank God for taking me through my attachment period.
My three months of attachment in Busia Water and Sewerage Services Company LTD was full of
happiness and educative. Am glad to say that during the attachment period i stayed at related peacefully
with the company staff.
The company should allow attachment opportunities to different students pursuing various courses in
different institution across the country.
