Assignment 1 (20%) - Word Processor

Due Date: Week 6 (16/2/2025)

CLO 1: Demonstrate the use of productivity software in producing information.


Task

This is an individual assignment where each student needs to produce a well-formatted article
from an existing rough draft. You also need to write a short discussion on computer literacy. You
need to download the file named Human-Machine Interaction.docx from UiTM’s UFUTURE:

Objectives

The main purpose of this assignment is for students to apply the knowledge and skills they have
learned on the features of a word processor. The content of the assignment will gauge students’
ideas on computing applications to create an attractive and well-formatted document. Students
are expected to acquire a better understanding of the overview of computer literacy, the
importance of computer literacy, and how to improve computer skills. This assignment also aims
to increase students’ capability in producing quality documentation.

Report Formatting Requirements

1. Font type : Century Gothic


2. Font Size : 12
3. Line Spacing : 1.5
4. Paragraph Alignment : Justify

5. Header :
<course code> <student name>

6. Footer :

<assignment name> <page number>

You need to Format Shape for the correct lines to be inserted at the header and the footer.

Specific Assignment Requirements

Cover page
1. Insert a Blank Page to create a cover page from the title, author’s name and publication
details.

2. Change the title “The Future of Human - Machine Interaction” to a WordArt of your choice with
a bigger font size.

3. Provide the following information on your cover page:


- UiTM’s logo
- Your Name
- Your student ID
- Course Code
- Assignment Name
- Your Lecturer’s Name

4. At the top of the cover page, insert a table that consists of the following information:

Right align all cells that has numbers (as shown above).
Use the table properties to format nice borders and background colours of your choice.

*Note: The first page (cover page) should not have a header and footer.

5. Change the bulleted list into numbered list.
6. Change the styles of the following topics and subtopics to each respective heading styles:

7. At the end of the article, add a new topic called Discussion. You must then write a ONE (1)
paragraph (not more than 150 words) discussion on what are the ethical issues arising
from the increasing use of human-machine interactions under this newly added topic.

8. Next, add another new topic called Examples of Input Devices. Insert a new drawing canvas
and create a mind map figure using Shapes menu to illustrate the following content:

Input Devices  keyboard, mouse, microphone, scanner, webcam, game controller

For each input device example, insert a picture instead of text accordingly. Use Picture Format
for a better style and design.

Insert the caption Figure 1- Input Devices below the drawing canvas with Center alignment.

9. Both new topics should follow the following heading style:

10. Insert a Table of contents. The table of contents should be on a new page immediately after
the cover page.

11. You may change the text font and size for all headings.

*Note: The Table of Contents page should have a roman ii page number displayed. Body contents
should start with 1 as the first page number then followed by the remaining numbered pages.

Submission

1. Check to ensure proper spacing and formatting for the article.


2. Name your file as yourStudentID_Assignment 1 and submit the .docx file in UFUTURE as
assigned in the Cont. Assessment menu under Assignment.
3. This assignment must be submitted individually in Week 6 by 11:55PM 16th February 2025.

● Follow all the instructions to meet the requirements but additional work is encouraged.
● Late submissions will be heavily penalized, and plagiarism is PROHIBITED.
● Total mark = 100 (20% of Continuous Assessment)
