FusionModule800 Smart Small Data Center
Product Description (Latin America) 1 Overview

 The Converged Cabinet integrates the power distribution, uninterruptible power system
(UPS) power distribution, smart cooling product, and monitoring system.

Security and Reliability

 Single power input is used.
 Each UPS is configured with a manual maintenance bypass switch. When the smart
module is working properly, the switch is turned off to prevent electrical accidents
caused by misoperations.
 UPSs work in N+1 redundancy mode to improve the system reliability.
 Strong-current and weak-current cables are separately routed to minimize the
electromagnetic interference.

Small Footprint and Energy Conservation

 The equipment room can be renovated from an office building room.
 The smart module can be directly installed on a concrete floor in a building, which
simplifies external engineering.
 Equipment room area ≤ 30 m2.
 The smart module features a short delivery period and quick installation. It takes five
person-days at most to complete the installation and commissioning (of the typical 7.5
kW/R3 module scenario), which is really time efficient.

Easy and Quick Installation

 Standard solutions and engineering designs are adopted.
 The prefabricated 250 mm aisle containment saves both space and time.
 The rack-mounted smart cooling product indoor units are prefabricated, facilitating the
redundancy.

Architecture Compatibility
 T1 environments are supported.
 Modular power distribution and smart cooling products facilitate flexible expansion.
 Cold aisle containments are supported and noise is low.
 If PUE is enabled on the monitoring page, the PUE value will not be displayed.

Fast and Flexible Deployment

3.4.5 Intelligent Battery Monitoring System

The intelligent battery monitoring system consists of the iBOX (CIM) and iBAT (BIM).
The iBOX is an intelligent battery management module that collects wireless communication
data from the downstream iBAT groups, collects and analyzes the operating data of battery
strings, calculates state of charge (SOC) and state of health (SOH) of batteries and battery
strings and estimates the battery health status accordingly, supports battery tripping
management, and uploads data to the management unit through COM or POE ports.
The iBAT is a battery monitoring module that monitors the voltages, internal resistances, and
pole temperatures of batteries.
In the scenario with battery cabinets, the iBOX is installed inside a smart module battery
cabinet and the iBOX communications cable connects to a smart ETH gateway.
(Optional) When a battery system needs to be managed by multiple iBOXs, the iBOXs can be
connected to northbound devices using straight-through cables (the ECC800 supports four
iBOXs in parallel through the smart ETH gateway) without cascading.

 If the battery string is configured with the neutral wire, measure the currents of the positive and
negative battery string cables. If the battery string is not configured with the neutral wire, measure
the current of either the positive or negative battery string cable. The following uses the scenario
where the battery string is configured with the neutral wire as an example.
 When an iBOX manages multiple battery strings, first connect the Hall effect sensors on the positive
and negative cables of battery string 1 respectively to the corresponding ports on the iBOX. Then
connect the Hall effect sensors on battery string 2 to the iBOX in the same way, and so on.

FusionModule800 Smart Small Data Center
Product Description (Latin America) 3 System Architecture

 If the positive or negative battery string cable is too thick to be routed through the Hall effect sensor,
or the measurement range of the Hall effect sensor is not enough, use multiple Hall effect sensors to
monitor the current of one battery string. The iBOX supports the sum of the monitoring results of
multiple Hall effect sensors, which is set through Multi-Hall cur. setting.
 The value of Multi-Hall cur. setting equals the number of positive or negative Hall effect sensors in
a single battery string and should be greater than or equal to 1.

3.5 Surge Protection and Grounding System

3.5.1 Surge Protection Solution
The Smart Module is mainly used for building equipment rooms. Its power distribution
system is a subsystem of the building power distribution system. Class I surge protective
devices (SPDs) of the power system are provided by the general low-voltage power
distribution room or cabinet of the building.

FusionModule800 Smart Small Data Center
Product Description (Latin America) 3 System Architecture

Figure 3-59 Surge protection solution

 The Smart Module provides class C SPDs in standard configuration, and 32 A SPDs are
configured on the upstream side.
 If the power cable to the smart cooling product outdoor unit needs to be routed through
the rooftop, it is recommended that the cable be routed through metal pipes or metal
cable troughs. The metal pipes or metal cable troughs should have good electrical contact
and be grounded at both ends.
 The SPD connection conductors should be short (within 0.15 m) and straight. The SPD
power cable uses copper wires with the minimum cross-sectional area of 10 mm2. The
SPD ground cable uses copper wires with the cross-sectional area of at least 16 mm2.

3.5.2 Grounding Solution

Equipotential Grounding for Cabinets in the Module
A general ground bar is configured in the Converged Cabinet. The ground terminals in other
cabinets are connected to the general ground bar by cables with a cross-sectional area no less
than 16 mm2. The general ground bar is connected to the floor ground bar (FEB) or collective
ground bar (25 mm x 3 mm copper bar laid along cable trays or walls) of the equipment room
by ground cables with a cross-sectional area no less than 35 mm2.

The AC input power is from the upstream power distribution system. The cross-sectional areas of
ground cables are determined according to IEC 60364-5-54.

(1) General ground bar

Cabinet Grounding
 Metal components and parts of cabinets are properly connected. A structural connection
area is protected and applied with antioxidants. An area protected with painting should
ensure proper metal surface contact for two connected components. The DC resistance is
within 0.1 ohm between any two connected metal components. Use a ground cable to
connect two metal components that cannot be directly connected, such as cabinets and
cabinet doors. A cable for connecting these two metal components has a minimum
cross-sectional area of 6 mm2.
 A ground bar or general ground point is provided in each cabinet for equipment
grounding. These ground bars are not insulated.
 A ground terminal is larger than or equal to M8 in dimensions. A yellow ground label

is attached close to the general ground terminal for cabinets.

 Connect equipotential cables to metal components without carrying currents in the
module, such as metal doors and windows, cable trays, and ESD floor supports. Each
equipotential cable has a minimum cross-sectional area of 6 mm2.

3.6 Fire Extinguishing System

Huawei provides only sensors for the fire extinguishing system in the Smart Module. Other
components should be prepared by the customer.

3.7 Integrated Cabling System

3.7.1 Integrated Cabling
Cable troughs are installed on the top of cabinets for routing cables. There are two types of
cable troughs: signal cable troughs and power cable troughs.
