the program is running, the New Project Wizard screen will appear. Here you can determine what and
Shortcuts
how you want to download; however, you can change these settings to meet your needs at any time.

The following steps will help you to begin a New Project:

Step 1
In the Project URL box, enter the starting web address (URL) of the web content or site you wish to
download.

The Project name is automatically saved as the title of the Web page by default, but it can be changed
at any time to whatever you like by typing in a new Project name.

Step 2
Choose the Download directory. This is where your downloaded files will be stored. By default, Offline
Explorer Enterprise places all downloaded Websites into the following folder: c:download directory.

To change the Download directory, click Browse and select where you would like Offline Explorer
Enterprise to save your downloaded Web content.

Click Next.

Step 3
In the Levels limit box, select the number of levels you would like to download. This value determines
how many levels deep from the starting URL a download should go. If you only need the first page and
the images on it, set Levels limit to 0. To download all pages linked to the first page, set the Levels limit
to 1.

Click Next.
Step 4
Select the file types that you would like to exclude from the download. If you need all file types,
chose Download all files that are linked to the starting page.

If you decide to exclude certain types of files (Graphics, Video, Audio or Archive), check those that you
would like to exclude and select Skip loading the following file types.

File types with a check mark will be excluded, while files without a check mark will be included.

Click Next.

Step 5
Select a Download location.

If you want to download web pages only within the starting URL, select "Load only within the starting
URL."

If you do not want to load from other servers linked to the starting URL, select "Load only from the
starting server."

If you want to download content from all linked sites, select "Load from any location."

If you need all images, select "Load images from any location."

Click Next.

Step 6
To begin the download, select Download the new Project now. To begin the download later,
select Download the Project later.

If you need to fine-tune or adjust your download settings, select Setup advanced properties.

Click Next.

The Project you created will be added to the Project tree on the left side of the Offline Explorer Enterprise
screen. Once the program starts downloading, you can watch all processes in the Download Progress toolbar.
The Status Bar displays the number of downloaded files and the number of the files waiting to be downloaded.

Once your downloading is complete, a Download complete message will appear in the notification area on
the screen within the Download Progress toolbar and you can now begin browsing the Website offline. To
begin browsing, select the Project you downloaded in the Project tree and click Browse on the Ribbon. Offline
Explorer Enterprise will open the downloaded Website in the Internal Browser.

Shortcuts

To download a file, Offline Explorer Enterprise establishes a connection to the Internet. Typically, web
browsers establish 2 connections to the Internet when you browse the Internet, while Offline Explorer
Enterprise is able to establish 2 to 500 connections simultaneously while downloading a website. Varying the
number of established connections helps you organize download process according to your needs. For
example, establishing 2 connections may cause slow downloading, while establishing 500 connections will use
many Windows resources and may cause unstable work of your computer.

By default, the number of files that can be downloaded at one time is set to 10.

To select the number of files that can be downloaded at one time, follow these steps:

On the Ribbon, click the Internet tab.

In the Number of connections box type the number you need.

Note: If you increase the number of concurrent connections in the process of downloading files rather than beforehand,
the new connections will be added immediately. If you reduce the number of concurrent connections in the process of
downloading files, the connections will be removed when the files are completely downloaded.

Warning: Selecting more than 100 concurrent connections may cause unstable work of your computer.

Specifying the number of attempts to download a file

By default, if any Internet access problems occur, Offline Explorer Pro attempts to download a file until the file
is completely downloaded. You are enabled to limit the number of attempts to download files.

To select the number of attempts of downloading a file, follow these steps:

On the Ribbon, click the Internet tab.

In the Number of retries box, type the number you need.

Specifying the delay between downloads

By default, Offline Explorer Enterprise downloads files without any delay. However, you can set a delay in
seconds between downloading files to reduce the Internet traffic created by Offline Explorer Enterprise, or to
simulate human browsing of a website.

To specify the delay between downloading files, follows these steps:

On the Ribbon, click the Internet tab.

In the Delay between downloads box, type the number or a range of seconds you need.

Example

If you set the following delay between downloading files - 2-9, Offline Explorer Pro will randomly select any
number of seconds between 2 and 9 to wait before downloading next file.

Note: Non integer numbers are supported. For example, you can specify 0.23 seconds, or 2.5-5.7 seconds.

Specifying the timeout limit

When the server is not responding, Offline Explorer Enterprise will stop attempts to download a file after the
specified number of seconds and start downloading the next file. By default, the timeout limit is set to 60
seconds.

To specify the timeout limit, follow these steps:

On the Ribbon, click the Internet tab.

In the Timeout box, type the number of seconds you need.

Using MS Internet Explorer cookies

Offline Explorer Enterprise can be set to use MS Internet Explorer cookies while requesting files from the
server.

To use MS Internet Explorer cookies, follow these steps:

On the Ribbon, click the Internet tab.

On the Internet tab, check the Use MS Internet Explorer cookies check box.
Note: If a website uses temporary cookies, logon to this website in the Internal Browser. Offline Explorer Pro will use
permanent and temporary cookies.

Specifying the mode of identification in the Internet

Each browser including offline browsers sends user-agent string to the server while requesting webpages. This
user-agent string contains information identifying a browser. You are enabled to identify Offline Explorer
Enterprise as itself, as an Internet browser installed on your computer, or as Anonymous. By default, Offline
Explorer Enterprise is identified as itself; however changing the mode of identification in the Internet may help
you to download files from some protected websites.

To select the user-agent identification of Offline Explorer Pro, follow these steps:

On the Ribbon, click the Internet tab.

In the Identify as box, select how the user-agent identification mode.

Specifying the mode of connection to FTP servers

You are enabled to select between PASV (passive) and PORT (active) modes to download files from the FTP
sites. By default, the PASV mode is selected because firewalls may block PORT (active) FTP connections.

To specify the FTP connection mode, follow these steps:

On the Ribbon, click the Internet tab.

In the Internet tab, check the PASV mode for FTP downloads check box

or uncheck the PASV mode for FTP downloads check box.

Offline Explorer Enterprise will use PASV or PORT mode respectively.

Using Windows Internet library provided with MS Internet Explorer

Offline Explorer Enterprise is enabled to use Windows Internet library provided with Internet Explorer to
establish a stable Internet access for FTP and HTTP downloads.

To use WinInet library of MS Internet Explorer, follow these steps:

On the Ribbon, click the Internet tab.

In the Internet tab, check the Use alternative connection method check box.

Offline Explorer Enterprise will use the functions from Windows Internet library of MS Internet Explorer.
