Lesson Plan in Empowerment Technology

Content Standards: The learners demonstrate an understanding of: ICT


in the context of global communication for the

Performance Standards: The learners shall be able to at the end of the 2-week
period independently compose an insightful reflection
paper on the nature of ICT in the context of their
lives, society, and professional tracks.

Learning Competencies and Code: Compare and contrast the nuances of varied online
platforms, sites, and content to best achieve specific
class objectives or address situational challenges.

Quarter: First Week: 1 Day: 3

I. Objectives:

At the end of the lesson, 100% of the learners are expected to:
a. Explain the trends in ICT;
b. Compare and contrast the implications of varied online platforms, sites and
content; and
c. Value the importance of identifying the right platforms, sites and content in
addressing social issues and concerns.
II. Content

Subject Matter: Introduction to Information and Communication Technologies


Integration: Choosing the right, reliable websites for reliable materials in the
conduct of research.
Responsible individual uses Media and Information Literacy
skill to make a difference in this digital era.
Strategies: Game, Collaborative Learning; Discussion,

Review of previous Pass the “lucky ball” game.

Mechanics: Music will be played , while its playing you need
to pass the ball to the person seated next to you. Once the
music stops playing the person holding the ball will answer
questions relative to our past lesson.
Ask from students the following questions;
1. What is ICT?
2. What is the feature of web 1.0, ?
3. What is the feature of web 2.0, ?
4. Give the difference between web 3.0 and web 1.0.
A. Activity Group Task
Mechanics;
1. Group the class into 6.
2. A leader and a secretary will be assigned in each
group.
3. Each group will be asked to list down things that they
usually do using the internet.
4. A group representative will be given 1 minute to
present the group’s outputs.

B. Analysis The following questions will then be asked to the students:

◆ How important is the internet in accomplishing things that


you have listed?

◆ What particular websites you often visited or browsed?

For what reasons?

C. Abstraction The teacher will ask students’ idea and opinion on the

D. Application Group Task


Mechanics:
1. Identify a problem in the community (e.g. littering,
waste disposal, environmental issues, etc)
2. Imagine that you are going to create a website to
persuade both community leaders and members to solve the
problem
3. A group member will be identified by the teacher to report
the output.
4. A pre crafted rubrics by the teacher will be presented for
comments and suggestion of the students before the start of the
activity

2. Compare and contrast the implications of varied online platforms, sites and
content; to best achieve specific needs, objectives; or to best address the
challenges in the classroom or that of your community. On a piece of paper or
in whatever suitable digital tool is available, write down your insight in 300
words.
