HackSphere Marathon (HACKATHON)


Welcome to the PCTE Engineering Department Hackathon! This exciting event brings
together creative minds to tackle real-world problems through innovative web-based
solutions.
Here are the essential details:
Duration: 2 days
Coding Phase: Day 1 (24 hours)
Presentation: Day 2 (Each team must deliver the presentation in 5-8 minutes)
Amenities:
Dinner, late-night tea & snacks, and bedding provided for night rest (Note: For late night tea,
participants are requested to bring thermal flask of their own to store the tea)
Equipment:
Participants must bring their own laptops or use provided systems with network connection.
Problem Statements:
Four problem statements will be provided, and participants can choose any one to develop a
web-based solution. The solutions should be complete working solutions addressing the
chosen problem statement.
Adjudication Criteria:
Solutions will be judged based on the following criteria:
1. User Interface (UI): The visual appeal, usability, and intuitiveness of the solution's
interface.
2. User Experience (UX): How effectively the solution meets the needs of the end-users,
considering factors such as ease of navigation and efficiency.
3. Logic: The robustness, efficiency, and effectiveness of the solution's underlying logic and
functionality in addressing the problem statement.

Guidelines:
To ensure a smooth and fair competition, kindly adhere to the following guidelines:
1. Team Formation: Participants can work individually or in teams. Each team can have a
maximum of 4 members.
2. Code of Conduct: Respectful behaviour towards fellow participants, mentors, and
organizers is expected at all times. Any form of cheating, plagiarism, or misconduct will
result in immediate disqualification.
3. Submission: Participants must submit their solutions before the specified deadline on
Day1. Late submissions will not be accepted.
4. Presentation: Each team will have a designated time slot on Day 2 to present their
solution to the adjudication panel. Presenters should effectively showcase the solution's
features, functionalities, and how it addresses the chosen problem statement.
5. Intellectual Property: Participants retain ownership of their solutions. However, by
participating in the Hackathon, participants grant the Department of Computer Science
Engineering of PCTE Institute of Engineering and Technology the right to showcase their
solutions for promotional and educational purposes.
6. Feedback: Constructive feedback will be provided to all participants after the event to
help them improve their skills and solutions.
Prize:
1st prize: ₹ 10,000/-
2nd prize: ₹ 5,000/-
3rd prize: ₹ 2,500/-
(Also, Participation Certificates will be distributed to all the participants)
