Macintosh OS X Installation

To install Sonar Bookends InDex Pro for the Mac OS X:

1. Open the folder that represents the version of InDesign that you own.

2. Drag the file Sonar Bookends® InDex Pro into the InDesign Plug-ins folder.

3. Drag the files SBIKWELIM.TXT, SBIPN.TXT, SBIPREFIX.TXT,


SBISORTIGNORE.TXT, SBISORTSEQUENCE.TXT, SBITITLES.TXT,
SONARPOSTABS.SON, and SONARDICT.SON (found in the folder Files
for Preferences Folder) into your Preferences folder, which is found at
Users/your user name/Library/Preferences.

Windows Installation

To install Sonar Bookends InDex Pro for Windows:

1. Open the folder that represents the version of InDesign that you own.

2. For InDesign CS4 and earlier: drag the file SBInDexPro.pln into the InDesign
Plug-ins folder.

3. For InDesign CS5 and later: drag the entire folder Sonar Bookends InDex Pro
into the InDesign Plug-ins folder.

4. Drag the folder sonar files (found in the folder Place enclosed folder on c drive) onto
your computer’s C drive. Note: If you already have a sonar files folder on your C drive,
then just copy the contents of the new sonar files folder into that existing sonar files
folder. (There are 8 files to be copied: SBIKWELIM.TXT, SBIPN.TXT,
SBIPREFIX.TXT, SBISORTIGNORE.TXT, SBISORTSEQUENCE.TXT,
SBITITLES.TXT, SONARDICT.SON, and SONARPOSTABS.SON.
Sonar Bookends InDex Pro Demonstration Mode

When first installed, Sonar Bookends InDex Pro runs in demonstration mode.
Demonstration mode has the following restrictions:

• Only words starting with an “s” are in the word frequency list
• Only the first 25 subjects are included in a subject list
• Only the first 25 proper nouns are included in a proper noun list
• Only the first 10 marked words are put into a marked word list
• Only the first 10 table of contents entries are found
• Only the first 2 page numbers for each indexed entry are shown

To remove these restrictions, you must purchase Sonar Bookends InDex Pro. After
payment is received, you are given a special serial number to enter into a registration
box, enabling the desired features immediately.
