PRC National Anthem Analysis
起来!不愿做奴隶的人们!
把我们的血肉筑成我们新的长城!
中华民族到了最危险的时候,
每个人被迫着发出最后的吼声。
起来!起来!起来!
我们万众一心,
冒着敌人的炮火,前进!
冒着敌人的炮火,前进!
前进!
前进!进!

We will spend our body and time to help build up this greatful country (the great wall indicates
China at that time). The danger came out, chinese masses had faced it. The indignation fills the
heart of all of our countrymen. When all of our hearts with one's mind, we all arised. We will
keep marching on, and keep brave the enemy's gunfire. At one day, no one can keep bullying
us.
Analysis
The first 6 sentences of the anthem used the trumpet to do the background music. Which shows
a really powerful and tempo. In the First and the second sentences wake up, arise, our people
refuse to be bond slaves and refuse to be bullied by other countries shows the national urgency.
Since the opium war in 1840, lots of countries have colonized parts of china. China became
weak and was divided into several parts. Thus, Chinese people should wake up. In the third
sentence, China's masses have met the day of danger, which is the strongest aphorism, which
warns Chinese people should focus on the danger. Chinese people met the dangerous situation
in which the country was almost in a subjugation situation. Anthem Writer invoked Chinese
people to protect their country immediately, every citizen should dedicate their power to save
this country. The next sentence Indignation fills the heart of all of our countrymen shows
Chinese people brewing an unstoppable power. They want to stand up and dedicate
themselves to building up our nations. In the fifth sentence, three arise words like encouraging
Chinese people to defend other countries invaded, and showing Chinese people are
indomitable and unyielding. There are also three repeated words March on! March on! March
on! This makes the song more powerful and more straight forward. It expresses the ideals and
determination of the people of the country to resist foreign aggression and strive for the
independence of the people.
