ATLANTIC SAILOR
Sebastian Clover is a 15-year-old boy who lives in the south of England. In January, he became the
youngest person ever to travel from one side of the Atlantic Ocean to the other, all alone in a sailing boat.
It took Sebastian 25days to sail from Tenerife to the island of Antigua in the Caribbean. This isn’t very fast,
but it is a long way for someone so young!
The weather was fine during Sebastian’s trip, which was lucky, and he wasn’t always completely alone.
Sometimes very large fish swam along next to his boat. At first he was afraid that they were dangerous, but
the fish were just being friendly.
The main problem that Sebastian had on the trip was when his telephone stopped working. His parents
were really worried about him, because he usually phoned them every day, but for the last three days he
couldn’t. Sebastian was sorry not to talk to them, but nothing else was wrong.
Sebastian kept a video diary on his trip. You will soon be able to buy this video on the shops. Sebastian
wants to sail around the world next and he needs to save up money to pay for the trip. If you buy his video,
this will help him.
