eSignal 12.14 introduces several new features and enhancements for active traders and investors. Below is a
summary of the new features, enhancements and important bug fixes. For more detailed information about any of
these features please visit the eSignal KnowledgeBase (kb.esignal.com).

New Features and major enhancements


The following list highlights new features and major enhancements introduced in eSignal 12.14

FileShare
• Added option to add Shared folder(s) to the Library
This feature allows users to add to the Library any number of folders (and their sub-folders if any) that
they own and that contain formulas.
Please note that by default a folder that is added to the Library is also made Public. If you only want to
add the folder to the Library (so as to be able to access it yourself) but do not wish to make it Public at the
same time you will need to uncheck the Public option.

Once a folder is added to the Library any formula that is contained therein is available and can be loaded
directly from any of the windows that make use of formulas (Chart, Watch List, Dashboard, Quote Board,
Market Screener Plus) as if that formula were stored locally.

• Added functionality to add detailed information to formulas
This feature allows users to add detailed information – including images – to any formula stored in
FileShare.

Once the information is added it can be viewed either by using the Preview button (next to each file) in
FileShare

or directly from the Add Object dialog that displays when selecting Insert Study/Add Column command in
the window in which you are adding the study or columns (e.g. Chart, Watch List, etc.).

Shell
• Added option to set the default file location
Users can now set the default location for their eSignal files.

This can be on a secondary drive or a network drive or a cloud drive (such as for example OneDrive).
In selecting the new location users also have the option to copy all the existing files from the current
default location to the new one.

• Added option to synchronize files


Taking advantage of FileShare, users now have the option to synchronize eSignal files between different
computers.

Depending on the users’ selection these files may include bar edits, function libraries, Market Screener
filters, formulas in the My Formulas folder, sounds, workspaces and pages.
Please note that in this initial iteration of this functionality any pages that are open at the time of launching
the application could be opened prior to being synchronized and should be reloaded before applying any
changes to avoid a potential data loss. In the next version this will no longer be necessary as the pages
will be loaded only after they have been synchronized.

Chart
• Added Notes
Users can now add any number of Notes to the main symbol of any chart or sub-chart.
Once added, these Notes will appear on any chart and on any interval for that symbol and are displayed
as a label at the bottom of the corresponding chart or sub-chart (similar to the labels for Earnings,
Dividends, etc.).
Users can view the content of these Notes by hovering on the labels themselves or they can elect to open
the new side sliding panel which will show all the Notes in that Chart window. Notes can also be edited at
any time from any chart for the corresponding symbol (through the label’s context menu) or removed
either through the label’s context menu or from the Notes side sliding panel.

• Enhanced the Earnings label


Earnings labels will now also display the Next Earnings date.

• Enhanced the Insert Study dialog
The Insert Study… dialog has been completely redesigned (and renamed to Add Object) and is now
common – other than for specific fields - to the Add Columns… dialog of the Watch List, Dashboard and
Market Screener Plus and the Add Fields… dialog of the Quote Board.
This means that users can now switch between these windows all the while maintaining open the same
dialog that simply adjusts to display the specific fields related to each window type thereby greatly
increasing the functionality of this feature.

Also – as shown in the FileShare section of these Release Notes - the Add Object dialog can display
additional information (when available) regarding studies, fields, etc.

Other Enhancements and Fixes

• Updated the EFS engine to SpiderMonkey version 73.


• Enhanced the Market Profile window with the addition of the Track Price Cursor option.
• Enhanced the Chart’s Insert Study toolbar menu which now opens in a single scrollable menu.
• Enhanced the Chart’s labels whereby they no longer overlay when multiple labels fall on the same date
but are now stacked vertically.
• Enhanced the Back Test Report whereby it now exports all the pages.
• Enhanced the secondary sorting of Market Depth window in DOM Mode.
• Other minor enhancements and fixes.
