Module2 LP2
Module2 LP2
I. OBJECTIVES
By the end of this lesson, students will be able to:
● Define and differentiate between inductive and deductive
reasoning;
● Analyze how inductive and deductive reasoning are used in various
fields and disciplines. and
● Apply their understanding of inductive and deductive reasoning to
solve problems and evaluate arguments.
A. Preliminaries
a. Prayers
b. Greetings
c. Checking of Attendance
B. Review
The teacher asks the students to do the recap from the previous lesson together with the
imposing of classroom rules.
A. Motivation/Activity
The teacher will flash a riddle picture on the TV screen. The students would have to
answer the riddle.
The police arrived at the ski resort. The manager was found dead in the morning. The
maid found his body in the staff lounge. The police suspect three people who arrived
yesterday. They inspected their rooms.
B. Analysis
C. Abstraction
The teacher briefly talks about critical-thinking and its essence in everyday life. Next, he
emphasizes the understanding on how different modes of reasoning can help in
problem-solving and decision-making. Then, he introduces the topic: Modes of
Reasoning (Inductive and Deductive Reasoning), discusses it and gives examples for
further understanding.
D. Application
The teacher divides the class into seven (7) groups. He then lets the students think of
real-world scenarios wherein inductive or deductive reasoning is used. The students
enact the scenarios in class. All groups critique each other and the teacher provides
feedback for each group.
ASSESSMENT
The teacher presents real-time samples of reasoning. The students will identify whether
the sample is inductive or deductive.
