Brief Background

Transportation is a critical aspect of modern life, with buses being a common mode of public transit.

Traditional bus ticketing systems involve physical queues and manual processes, which are time-

consuming and inefficient. The advent of technology has made it possible to develop online bus

booking platforms to simplify this process. These systems allow passengers to book tickets from the

comfort of their homes, choose their preferred seats, and make secure payments online. This

project aims to design and implement an online bus booking system to improve convenience and

efficiency for both users and operators.

Statement of the Problem

The manual ticket booking system for buses is often plagued by inefficiencies such as long queues,

overbooking, and poor record management. These issues result in customer dissatisfaction,

revenue losses for bus operators, and logistical challenges. An online bus booking system stabilizes
