SAP Cloud ALM Feature Scope Description

SAP Cloud ALM is an offering for application lifecycle management (ALM). It’s intended for customers who use solutions provided
by SAP, and who do not want to use their own ALM on-premise platform to manage those solutions.

This document shows you which features are provided with SAP Cloud ALM. These are legally binding. On the product pages of
SAP Help Portal, you may come across additional features, or integration descriptions with other products that must be licensed
separately. These descriptions may go beyond the product scope specified here. Further restrictions may apply based on your
license agreement with SAP.

Business Transformation
SAP Business Transformation Center, included with SAP Cloud ALM, is an offering for planning data transitioning projects from
SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA. It’s intended for customers who want to gain insights into their legacy SAP ECC system in order to
accelerate their transition to SAP S/4HANA.

The following table explains the key features of SAP Business Transformation Center:

Key Feature Use

Uploading the analysis file and creating the digital blueprint Prepare your data for planning a transformation project.

Upload and save the analysis file, which contains the data
exported from the source SAP ECC system.

Create and manage the digital blueprint, which contains

technical and business details of your planned
transformation project.

Planning the scope of your data transformation project Plan your transformation project.

Refine the company code scope in the digital blueprint.

Refine the transformation object scope in the digital

blueprint.

Refine the scope of your digital blueprint with a time slice-

based data reduction.

View technical and business details about the digital

blueprint.

Converting the defined scope from a digital blueprint into an Turn your digital blueprint into an executable entity which enables
executable entity productive migration.

Create the transformation model and the transformation

model version. These take the digital blueprint created
during the scoping phase and translate it into a set of rules
and definitions for transforming data from an SAP ECC
system to an SAP S/4HANA system.

Executing the data transformation Execute your data transformation.

Create and manage your cycle.

Operations
The following table lists the key features for operations with SAP Cloud ALM.

For detailed information and guidance on how to use these features, refer to the in-app help.

Key Feature Use

Integration and exception monitoring Integration and exception monitoring enables you to monitor data exchanged among
services (public or private) in both cloud-only scenarios and hybrid scenarios within the
selected scope.

It includes the following capabilities:

Report component-specific, business-impacting exceptions.

Follow a call or message sequence from a sender to all intended receivers.

Process alerts and start registered workflow instances.

Business process monitoring Business process monitoring enables the detect-to-correct lifecycle of SAP Cloud
solutions along the end-to-end processes of the intelligent suite.

You can perform the following activities:

Monitor the health of your business processes in real time with the help of
predefined business process key performance indicators (KPIs).

Access information about business documents for each of your processes, for
example, for reporting purposes or root cause analyses.

Define event definitions and process alerts for KPI threshold violations.

Health monitoring Health monitoring displays the most important health metrics defined by the monitored
services and systems.

Use it to check the correct function of a monitored entity. It covers the functional
aspects, like availability of components, utilization of resources, or reported errors. This
distinguishes health monitoring from real user monitoring, which concentrates mainly
on performance monitoring.

In case of an issue an event is triggered; and you can configure automatic event
reactions, like alerts, email notifications or automatic execution of a procedure.

Real user monitoring Real user monitoring permanently measures all real user requests from your managed
SAP solutions. The monitored services and systems send monitoring data to SAP Cloud
ALM covering performance as well as utilization aspects. Also, real user monitoring
offers drilldown possibilities from the global use of selected request types to single
executions and execution details.

In case of too many http errors an event is triggered; and you can configure automatic
event reactions, like alerts, email notifications, or ticket creations.

Synthetic user monitoring Synthetic user monitoring displays performance and availability issues of your
applications even before end users are affected by automatically executing your
Selenium IDE scripts on a regular schedule.

In detail, the following functions are available:

Upload Selenium IDE files containing groups of test scripts.

Define runners, which are the components executing the tests of the scenarios.

This is custom documentation. For more information, please visit SAP Help Portal. 6
3/21/25, 12:47 PM

Key Feature Use

Create scenarios and activate it by assigning the scenarios to runners.

Display availability and performance of all activated scenarios in the selected

time frame.

Drill down a scenario to display performance and availability values on runner

and step level.

Display aggregations of executions in order to monitor long-term changes for

scenarios and their runners.

Display a time overview of the performance and availability for your scenarios as
a heatmap.

In case of an issue an event is triggered; and you can configure automatic event
reactions, like alerts, email notifications or automatic execution of a procedure.

Notification management Notification management enables you to manage the receiver of email notifications
regarding operations with SAP Cloud ALM.

Intelligent event processing Intelligent event processing enables you to manage event processing rules. You can
create new rules, edit existing rules, deactivate and delete rules when they are not
needed anymore.

Job and automation monitoring Job and automation monitoring helps you to evaluate the status of automated actions
and background jobs.

Workflow automation Automate operation and error handling procedures:

Register SAP workflows.

Start workflow instances.

Job status management Job status management provides you an overview of all jobs scheduled for a specific
use case such as Integration Monitoring and Exception Monitoring. The jobs displayed
can be any kind of jobs such as data collection jobs, alert calculation jobs, housekeeping
jobs.

Business service management Business service management enables you to manage business services, assigned
services and systems, and related events:

Manage business services by adding or deleting business services and assigned

services and systems

Import service-related events (maintenance, disruption, degradation, and

communication) provided by the Cloud Availability Center or SAP Cloud ALM
monitoring use cases

Maintain your own single or recurring events

Set up automatic alerts, notifications, operation flows, tickets, and tasks

Monitor the service levels of your business services

Configuration and security analysis Track the changes that have been applied to ABAP-based systems that are configured in
SAP SAP Cloud ALM.

Tag management With tags, you can conveniently group or connect objects; also a tag helps describing an
object and makes sure that it can be easily found.

In the tag management you can display all existing tags, both custom or delivered by
SAP. Also, you can manage custom tags.

In detail, the following options are available:

Search for tag names and filter for tag creators and the different tag sources.

Display the number of assignments of a tag.

Create, rename and delete custom tags.

Tag groups are used to offer multiple tag values for a specific aspect. You can
create, rename, and delete tag groups.

You need administrator authorization for accessing the app.

Landscape management Landscape management enables you to get an overview of your services, business
services, and systems that you use for your solutions. This information is the basis for
all SAP Cloud ALM apps.

Services are imported automatically on a daily basis; for systems, a registration is

required.

by the services directly and can also be maintained manually. In detail, the following
functions are available:

See your solutions in more detail.

Manage landscape information for your services, systems, and business

services.

SAP Readiness Check integration Activate or deactivate the integration between SAP Readiness Check and SAP Cloud
ALM.
