PROCEDURE FOR ROUTINE VERTICAL PILE LOAD TEST IN
COMPRESSION ON RCC BORED CAST-IN-SITU PILE
1.0 INTRODUCTION:-
1.1 The procedure for conducting Routine Vertical Pile Load Test in compression on
Bored Cast-in-situ Pile.
1.2 The assigned work is to conduct the routine vertical pile Load test in compression, for
Determining and check the safe load carrying capacity on bored RCC Cast-in situ Pile.
1.3 The Piles is having a uniform shaft dia. of 550 mm and 10 m deep (from
C.O.L). Construction of test pile was done as per IS: 2911 (part-1/Sec-2) and pile
load test has to be conducted as per IS: 2911 (part-4), specification and General
Engineering practices.
1.4 The Pile testing work is to be executed by M/s Bharat Infra Constructions, Bareilly.
1.5 The test shall be conducted by the team of skilled personnel under the supervision
2.0 LOCATION:-
The scope of work is to Conduct the Routine Vertical Pile Load test in compression on
550 dia. pile up to 1.5 times the designed safe load as per IS: 2911 Part-4.
Load shall be provided by a Hydraulic Jack, inserted between test pile and
Kentledge detailed on sketch enclosed.
4.2.1 Load shall be applied in series of about 20% of assumed safe load with the help
of the calibrated pressure gauge, up to maximum 1.5 times of safe load for
Routine test
4.2.2 Each stage of loading is maintained till rate of displacement of the pile top
is not more than 0.1 mm/30 min or 0.2/hours or untill 2 h have elapsed, whichever
is earlier subject to minimum of 30 min. The test load shall be maintained for
24 h.
4.2.3 Settlement reading shall be taken before and after the application of
each new load increment and at every 30 minut until the
application of next load increment.
4.2.4 Settlement shall be measured by four dial gauges of 0.01mm sensitivity for single
pile fixed on non-movable support with magnetic bases and tips resting on glass
plates, fixed on base plate, placed on top of pile, equi-spaced around the pile top.
Support of datum bar is 3D or minimum 2m away from the test pile edge.
