The question is, how many 4’s are there in 28.
4 + 4 + 4 + 4 + 4 + 4 + 4 = 28

From this we can see, there are 7. Suppose we put


1 in Box A, then Box B, then Box C, then lastly on
Box D, we would be doing all of the 4 boxes, 7
times. This would result to each of the boxes
having 7 apples each.

22. What is the largest 3-digit number that can be


formed from digits 8, 1, 5, and 0 such that no digit
is used more than once?

Answer: 851
Solution:
To form the largest 3-digit numbers, we put the
largest to smallest digits to the largest to smallest
place values. Given this, we have 851.
