Semi-Detailed Math-4

The lesson plan for Math-4 focuses on teaching students to distinguish between types of triangles based on angles (acute, right, obtuse) and to accurately use a protractor for measuring angles. The lesson includes preparatory activities, discussions on angle types, individual and group activities, and evaluation through drawing and classifying angles. An assignment is given to find and measure a triangle in their environment.

SEMI-DETAILED LESSON PLAN IN MATH-4

I. Objectives
At the end of the lesson, pupils are expected to:
a. Distinguish between different types of triangles based on their angles (acute, right and
obtuse)
b. Accurately use a protractor to measure the angles of various triangles.
c. Draw the following angles using the protractor.
II. Subject Matter
Topic: Triangles According to their Angles
References: Teresita P. Tagulao, Ed. D.(2024). Amazing Matematics 4. page 7-11
Materials: PowerPoint presentation, Mr. Robot Triangle, protractor and activity sheets
Values Integration: creativity
III. Procedures
a) Preparatory Activities
1. Prayer (to be led by the prayer leader)
2. Greetings
3. Checking of Attendance
b) Motivation
Begin the lesson with a game-based activity.
Direction: Fill the missing part of Mr. Robot Triangle

c) Presentation
Recalling about the topic yesterday which is triangle side then asking students
what are the three types of triangles according to their sides. Discuss the basic
properties of triangles according to their angles using the parts of Mr. Robot
Triangles.
Explain that today they will be learning about the different types of triangles
based on their angles.
d) Discussion
There are different kinds of angles according to their measures.
1. An acute angle measure less than 90º at the vertex.

70°

50° 60°

2. A right angle measures 90º at the vertex.

90° 90°

3. An obtuse angle’s measure is greater than 90º but less than 180º.

>90°
>90°

Discuss the characteristics of each type of triangle according to their angle, such
as the measurements of each angle. Have students give some examples.

e) Individual Activity/Group Activity (Application)

Direction: Name and measure each angle using a protractor. Then complete the
table below.

f) Generalization
a) What is thee 3 kinds angles according to their measure?
b) How do you describe Acute angle?
c) How do you describe Right angle?
d) How do you describe Obtuse angle?

IV. Evaluation
Direction: Draw the following angles by using a protractor and then classify each angle.
Angle Kind of Angle
1. 90°

2. 45°

3. 95°

4. 100°

V. Assignment
For the assignment, find an example of a triangle in your house, such as a wall sign or
math manipulative. Take a picture and paste it to your assignment notebook. Use a
protractor to measure each angle and name what kind of angle is it.
