CENTS ACCOUNTS

Why and when do you need a cents account?

1. A cents account is used when you want to test a system and don’t want to risk a lot of
money.
2. If you are trading martingale systems a cents account is perfect as the lot sizes can
multiply quite fast and you may need a lot more margin than you have bargained for on
a standard account.
3. For a standard account you need at least $3000 per currency pair but for a cents
account this is only $30 which is 3000 cents. Of cause you will not make as much
money but you will get to know how the EA is working before you start a standard
account.

Cents accounts works exactly as normal standard accounts except 0.01 lot is one cent while in
a standard account 0.01 is ten cents. If you open a cents account with $100 then you will get
10 000 cents (just add another two zero’s).

If the rule for martingale is to use on a standard account $3000 for initial lot of 0.01, then this
also applies to cents accounts. Use 0.01 for every 3000 cents. The EA will handle it exactly
the same, it does not know that the lot size of 0.01 has a different value because it is a cents
account. You just have to learn how to count your profits because 2000 profit will be $20, just
subtract two zero’s to get the dollar value.

Example of a cents account:

In above screen shot you will see a deposit of 18 160.00 cents, that is actually $181.60

The Profit is 11 518.31 cents which is $115.18

A profit of 6.22 is actually 6.2 cents and not $6.22, so you have to devide it all by 100!!

Remember that a broker like Roboforex offers cents accounts with different minimum lot sizes
in mt4 than mt5. On mt5 the minimum lot size is 0.01 and on mt4 the minimum lot size is 0.1.
